Title: Finally some *interesting* news

Quote
Swedish state broadcaster SVT has admitted a "huge blunder" after a porn film was accidentally shown in the background of a news bulletin.

...

Usually, the monitor shows the output of other news channels - but the workers had changed it to watch a sports event on cable channel Canal Plus. However, they did not remember to change the channel back - which, because Canal Plus shows adult content after midnight, resulted in the error.
I'd be tempted to move to sweden if we didn't already get that channel here :p Alas, though, I missed it. Would sure beat the regular newscasts around here. Any guesses on how many millions they'd have to pay in fines had this happened in the US?

I loved this bit;

While no viewers complained about the incident, he admitted there had been "enormous interest from media."

"You need to upgrade to Flash 8 or higher for this application to work." :doubt: I hate flash, at the very least they should support linux users too.

flash works on linux....
Only up to version 7. And even the latest v7 has video/audio syncinc issues. In other words, crap linux support.

I see no problem with this. If I wanted to view crap made in Flash, I'd point 'n' drool in Windows instead.

:rolleyes: Even if cross-platform support for a media format sucks, maybe some of us would actually leave the decision on whether the content's crap or not after actually seeing it? And maybe some of us would rather not dual-boot just to use some unsupported media crap.

Adobe is not the only one who should be blamed for this, web designers who forget linux and bsd users are as guilty for adopting media formats not working properly or at all in non-windows/os x operating systems. Another good example is use of Windows Media formats, the formats cannot be decoded on linux and bsd without use of hacky and illegal w32codecs package which is not due to illegality found in supported distro repositories.
