I'd far prefer the wikipedia way as it is far cleaner than for example using namespaces to have multiple versions of the same article, but I suspect that'll take a lot of setting up on the part of HLP's admins. Not to mention the risk of breaking stuff while working on it.
Using namespaces to keep articles seperate would be simpler initially and could be done without admins getting involved, but in the long run would be a much worse solution - For example, random page could then give you a page in any of the languages used on the wiki, and searches and sorting algorithms would have a much larger database to go through... programmers will know that 4+4 rarely equals 8 when talking sorting, but instead can often come out closer to 16
So, if it were my decision I'd say do it right the first time or not at all. No sense spending time on setting up namespaces (not to mention the constant fixing that'll be needed when people don't use them right) if it'll need to be changed anyway in a year or two.
