Freespace is asking me to insert CD#2

Freespace is asking me to insert CD#2 when I click on the Hangar to start the game. I have a copy that I downloaded and installed from steam and it has given great troubles. I have the latest launcher, I have moved everything to C/games/whatever... I have also installed openAL. What next?

Do you have Launcher 5.5g or wxLauncher? And FSO? Build 3.7.0, or 3.7.2 RC2?

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the Steam release. There was some serious botching going on in there.

Nevermind, I updated to Release: 3.6.18 Final and selected it from the launcher, this fixed everything :)

Great! I'm a bit out of the loop myself, so I'm not sure what improvements and such and such 3.7.0 would bring over 3.6.18, but I don' t think it's entirely necessary for you to start fiddling with that stuff now. The important thing is that you got things working and can get to playing this awesome game.

Feel free to ask if you encounter further issues or just have some questions in mind!

Thanks for the quick help :) Yes, steam really has dropped the ball on this one but the community has ironed out all the bugs already :)

Just be aware that, in order to take advantage of the latest and greatest MediaVPs, you need to get the 3.7.2 build.

And pilots saved on builds before 3.7.0 can fail to convert (won't work) when you move up to 3.7.0 or higher.
