Well four years later (except the odd "catch-up") this turned up, felt initially sad at the fact that a fair few people I knew will never get one due to with being in the ground or in pieces meaning literally gibbed.

Bank gave me my money back for the undelivered goods. Relieved, didn't think they were going to since it was WAY past the 60 day limit. Although the bank says that the company has 60 days to respond as to why the charge should be valid. Since I'm pretty sure they are permagone and I've heard the word "investigation" throw around, shouldn't be a problem. The only way they should be able to get the charge approved at this point would be to give me the **** I ordered which I would be fine with anyway.

And my bank is playing money games regarding fund releases, even though the seller never even took out the money and to get the transaction for my new GFX card and power supply to process I had to call the bank's fraud department.

Financers are pricks.

For me it wasn't until I turned 18, that was the first big pedal push. Now after being married for seven years, the days seem to pass in minutes.

In other news the wood stove is in and all is right with the world.

And FWIW, my wife and I just finished watching Colonial House which is an early 2000s PBS production and like everything else it can't compare to BBCs "farm" series.

Hands down BBC outdoes US productions across the board

I forked out far more money than I normally would about bought a GTX 1060 (superclocked variant). It is glorious.

Interestingly enough, the 'superclocked' 1060s don't actually run at higher clocks than bog-standard models, though they probably have better coolers.

I only forked over the extra cash for the better cooling system rather than the clock speed (there is a notable difference between the basic EVGA 6 GB card and the SC variant in the heatsink), but I do note this one is clocked at 1607 Mhz (boost up to 1800 and change); while the reference is around 1500 with boost into 1700. Curious where you're getting that they don't run at higher clock speeds.

They do run at higher clock speeds, but the 'boost speed' in the specs is AFAIK entirely nominal: the driver will dynamically clock the GPU as high as it can within certain constraints. My 1060 has a 1700MHz boost clock speed on the box, but even before tweaking anything it goes up past 1900.
