With the recent changes in FSU MediaVPs, The Battle Captains is no longer install-able via Knossos. It gives an error saying MVPS is missing. In actuality, it is the "MV_Cutscenes" Package that is missing from >=4.4.0 version of FSU MediaVPs... it has been split into "MV_Cutscenes_1" and "MV_Cutscenes_2". Either setting the MediaVPs dependency for The Battle Captians to target version "~4.3.0" or updating the package requirements would solve the issue.

Well sure, but he vanished before Knossos emerged and Battle Captains went up on it so presumably there's someone around who can fix it.

Given that its fairly buggy and not very worky, im pretty sure someone just pasted the files in and called it a day.  (though i do have vague memories of someone partly resurrecting it at some point in the past, so it may have benefitted from that somewhat)

ngld game me access to the mod on nebula so i could fix the dependencies... which I've done... but boy is this mod ever broken. The mainhall buttons are missing. Was it like that before? I think it was depending on the original blue planet instead of blue planet complete... cause its looking for anims for the mainhall buttons that aren't in blue planet complete. I was going to at least fix the mainhalls before uploading the fixed version to nebula. After that... I doubt I have the skill to fix the rest. I've pinned the versions of the dependencies to the earliest versions of FSO, MVPS, and BPC available to knossos to minimize compatibility rot... but obviously someone's gonna need to get in there and fix it the rest of the way.
