By swapping from deathmatch to CTF I have successfully lowered my KDR below 1 and actually started having quite a bit more fun

i'm having a bizzare problem getting to actually play the darned game.

basically, whenever i start a game (join queue), the mission loads, then i get a momentary glimpse from the bottom of the map, then the "exited queue" message shows, and dumps me back to the "menu", except there's no menu. it shows just the blank background where the two fighters are spinning slowly normally. if i press space, it takes me back to the main menu. if i try playing the practice map, or joining again, the game just gets stuck in the "infinite loading" state.

anyone have any clue or should i fire of a ticket to hi-rez?

Played a bit last night, was doing alright up until about 9PM, highlight of last night was the game just before polpolion joined, after that it all went to ****.

We were losing 2-0 at one point, then I got my game together.

I hid behind a pillar at the enemy base and waited for an enemy heavy to hobble all the way back to base with our flag. Just as he was was about to score I jumped out from behind the pillar, llama'd the flag and nitron'd him and made a score point. I hope he got mad.

Was that on temple ruins? The volcanic map? I was coming into your base at about 170 when a certain heavy llama grabbed the flag from in front of me :/

You'll find the matchmaking system puts you together with much more experienced players when you hit level 6, iirc.

but it was still hilarious, playing some CTF on that ice map, pathfinder, just buzzing around. hilariously enough, all 3 captures i made went "jump from tower, slide, snatch flag in mid flight, run away cackling like a freaking maniac"...

There's a nice route you can do on blood eagle kabatic I think it is, where you impact nitron/jet up the right hand side tower/hill ski back down the other side and nitron just before you hit a little jump. You're probably allready doing it, but you can hit 250km/h+ easily. You'll hit the flag with about 510HP if you're using egocentric, not a lot, but it's quite easy to turn into a cap.

i still need to get together with nitrons and actually hitting the damn flag. out of the 7 attempts at the flag i made, 3 were overshoots, straight into a spinfusor turret blast. i missed the sodding flag by a meter at most...

the 4th one was just hilarious however. i missed the flag by overshooting it and then landing a bit farther away. thankfully the enemy generator was down. anyhow, thats when i realised most of these folks dont know how to aim, as i was quite literally faceplanting into a wall while trying to climb on the base to get the flag and guess what. i didnt get a single shot in my ass that whole round.


then just as i cap, a heavy comes around and mortars my ass into oblivion.

There's an even better route on Katabatic if you're on Blood Eagle. Go up the hill behind the enemy flagstand tower and hide just behind the top of the hill until their flag is returned/capped. Then, jetpack over the hilltop, ski through the flagstand tower, dj/nitron boost if you feel like it, then cap. I managed to do a cap in below thirty seconds using a soldier and no dj(always lands me a high-speed grab), which is possible since you're taking the shortest route there is. Plus, you'll almost always surprise the people HoFing because most other routes can't grab from that direction as they're blocked by the tower.

Be sure to nuke the radar, though, as they'll be able to see you hiding behind the hill.

as a side note, those sodding infiltrators are effin imbalanced. AOE explosibe being shot out faster than even juggernauts can spit out? **** that ****.

Well, since today's patch, it only does 250 damage max when detonated mid-air(on a direct hit, like 100 otherwise), so it's pretty much nerfed. I'd much rather see the end of call-in spam.

i still find it ridiculous that it can rape the **** out of a juggernaut/doombringer with a single ****in burst. with most other weapons you'd be hard pressed to have that much stopping power.

also, yes, the call-ins are annoying as ****, but i can manage those most of the time by running the **** away when i hear the sound of it coming down...
