Who says anime always has teenagers saving the world? Actually, if you watch the Japanese versions and not the English dubbed versions where they censor much of it, you will see that much of it is more grown up. Plus, anime characters (protagonists) come in all ages. Also, it is apparent that Japan has less censorship restrictions than the so called land of the free (gimmick). Try watching some Japanese subbed versions instead of English dubs where they censor so much out and even skip episodes. You can find them on youtube.
Okay...just to nip this one completely in the bud, High Max, your "censorship" argument hasn't really been relevant since 1995 or so. With the relatively rare exception of companies like 4Kids, just about every anime series distributed in the US has received a completely-uncut release of some kind. And yes, anime does feature many instances of teenagers saving the world; your mileage may vary on how this particular trope affects you.
Now may I humbly suggest that we stop overrunning Spoon's thread with this sort of inanity and concentrate on the actual content he's showing us.
