Title: diaspora and the multipart turret limit

Hi, 

I'm curious as to how diaspora's battlestars work around the multipart turret limit, since as I understand it, battlestars rely on a hail of bullets for point defense?  I have a capital ship that works similarly, so I'm interested in workarounds.

Battlestar CIWS guns are also quite small so we made them fixed. There's just too many of them to make them multiparts, only the main artillery turrets  are multiparts for that reason. Would have made the ship unusable otherwise.

Ah, okay.  Visually, how does that appear?  Are they just limited to a very small field of fire?

Most likely works just like the f*ckton of retail turrets that are set up similarly. For example, Orion side turrets.

Frankly, the only way the average player is going to notice this is if he parks his viper right next to a CIWS turret and looks for it. It's not noticable if you're playing the game the way you're supposed to :)
