I am tracking the issue.

But, and I already told this to Joes via PMs, the medals are tied to Bonus Objectives but awarded by events that have additional conditions, namely Difficulty must be at least Medium and cheats were no activated.
You will get the Debrief based on the completion of the Bonus Objective, not based on the event thst awards the medal. I made that way to encourage replaying the campaign.

Also, the new progress bar on Mission 03 is really nice, as much **** as Orpheus gave me **** for it.

Off to a good start: There's no FreeSpace wiki page for this mod. Hope someone can give me some inside info I can blurb out at the start of next stream.

So I have a problem... Getting crashes before making it to Pilot Select or Main Hall across various mods after updating Memories of Great War (which is the only one I can load into, lol), possibly because it required also getting FSO 21.5.xxxx. This did some sort of player/pilot settings import, but it seems to have broken my other mods running on FSO 21.4. Things like JSON handler crashes because it's looking for "a value called 'control' but there is none" or "no player file found". I could post debug logs for each and every specific error, but I'm assuming this would be short-term remedied by making everything use FSO 21.5.xxxx

Having said that, I'd like to keep using stable for as long as possible, so... is there an easy way to "undo" whatever created this problem in the process of importing my data?

That might be partly my fault - while I entered the 20220101 nightly as target build, I forgot to uncheck the "allow newer version"-setting on the FSO-dependency for Memories of the Great War. So it might have pulled you into 21.5. with the conversion of the pilot code.

What is going on with recently added code regarding controls, someone else might be more knowledgable.

I got out of the same issue by deleting the converted pilots and making now ones with the 20220101-build.

At least I'm between campaigns on the stream, so that's not a huge issue. I had lots of shiny medals in FreeSpace and FreeSpace 2 though.

I did confirm that forcing FreeSpace Port to run on 21.5.x solves the issue, though I'm also hesitant to run on a development build for streaming (and in general) and risk... "surprises". Is there no way to convert my profile back to 21.4?

The pilot file was converted to use the new controls5 code when you started the 21.5.x build.  At the moment, there is no way to convert pilot profiles back to 21.4-compatible.  Until the new controls code is stabilized, the recommended procedure is:

1) Back up your pilot files somewhere
2) Delete the most recently used pilot files from the pilots folder
3) Run a pre-controls5 build, such as 21.4 stable
4) Create a new pilot, or use a pilot that was not selected or used when you ran the 21.5.x build

Once the controls5 code is stabilized and 22.0 stable is released, you'll be able to use your backed up pilot again.  Even so, it still may not be possible to backwards-convert pilot files; that remains to be seen.

Where would I find this pilot file? I checked the usual place (Knossos\library\FS2\data\players) but there's no Red Mage Joe there.
