Title: Will the latest FSOs work with Windows 7?

I mean, what are the minimum and recommended specs?

Strygon is right re: hardware specs. Though I've never had FS tax my trusty old 1070/i5 2500K

Post by: JCDNWarrior on March 28, 2023, 11:54:39 am: I can also confirm that everything runs just fine on my Windows 7 PC with a R7 1800x/GTX 1080, but for minimum specs, anything faster than an i5 2500k at stock clock and, say, a GTX 1050 Ti should be sufficient for playing FS2's campaign. If I still had the old hardware around I'd have stress tested it for you.

Post by: herkie423 on March 30, 2023, 04:43:26 am: That is really great to hear. And I am so relieved. I'm still running on Windows 7, AMD A8 7600 CPU, 8gb RAM, and Radeon R7 240. Windows 10 OS is still very expensive to buy.

I developed and ran my mods, AFR and TBG with FSO 374 and the above specs and I get an average FPS of 100 (at 1366x768).

That's why I limited my models in AFR and TBG to the model complexity of BPC. Anything more than the Erebus, for example, was a big no no for me.

But I will soon set up a new DDR4 PC which will cost me around 2k US dollars (200k PHP, equivalent to a brand new motorcycle). I will plan to assemble a PC with Ryzen 9 7300, 16gb RAM, GTX 970 and a 1TB SSD. It's a long shot but I will work hard to get it.

But i am unsure, as he also mentions that Windows 10 is expensive.
Not sure where he lives, but in the western hemisphere you can buy it for 5-15$...
