I dont know how they work can somone tell me how I can pout them on ships?

I have found that if you have a ship with out them FS2 dose not let them show so if you whant to have say the Gorgon in a neb you have to have these on it.

If you don't have the trails on, they won't show up, but the fighter still works in the nebula.

Not on my comp? I have to chek agian to see if your right but I can say that the new ships would look better with them on.

Strange, the Gorgon doesn't have trails and it works for me in nebula missions.

I also have that same prob with the Scorp.

Okok your right I gess that it was a small gilch in my game, but its gone now but I would still like to have them on just incace it stars up agian.

Do what I do... Copy the coorns. of the engine plumes from the pof data, and make each plume have a trail. Tada! Simple!

From the FS2 ship creation guide by Ian Paul Andrews:
9. Thruster Plumes
To create a thruster plume you need a sub-object called thrusterXX. WhereXX is a number referring to the engine to which the thruster plume belongs. The thruster plume is scaled depending on the ship's thrust. The scaling is done from the axis. So the axis should really go somewhere near the base of the flame. For an animated flame texture, texture your plume with thruster.ani from sparky.vp.

IPAndrews calls them plumes, I call them plumes.

Yes, I take the coorns of the plumes from the pof, and put them in the tbl where it asks for trail coorns works fine. I don't see why no one gets it...?

Hmm... but the trails are really where it 'cuts' into the nebula gas, like on a sharp edge - i.e. the Herc II's droppy down bit (whatever you call it).
