Help with Freelancer...yes, Freelancer

Hi, I decided i wanted to play Freelancer again, but am running into a problem.  I have a 22" Widescreen monitor running at a native 1680x1050.  Freelancer doesn't support this officially, and while I've gotten the game running, its not displaying the HUD properly.  Does anyone know how to make it work?

i don't think it can go above 1280x1024, i tried setting the resolution to my monitor's native 1400x1050 by going into Freelancer\EXE\freelancer.ini and it bumped it down on it's own.  Should probably give it another shot.

i had the right idea from the lancers, but missed one detail.  You have to change the resolution in the config, and the FOV in the camera.ini file, and then start a new game.  It seems to be doing the trick!  thanks for the response though!
