I've been trying to enter the website, but all I get is a black, blank page. Is the site down?

Yup, it works for me.
In any case, that site is no longer being updated. The new website is http://fsport.hard-light.net/, as it says on the old website's news page.

I don't see a news page on the old site I listed above. When I go to that old site, there is a banner of the site (non-clickable), a link to ths forum, and a link to enter the old site's main page. When you click "Enter", you are greeted with a black, blank page.
I tried googleing "FreeSpace Port", but the only relative link I see is that oldsite, and this forum. No link to the updated page. Thanks for the updated link.

Hm. Just tried it with IE and got the same thing. Must be a problem on Gamespy's end. If you hit refresh it works properly.
I'll see about fixing it.
