Title: Pre-requisites already in place for new port?
Post by: Colonol Dekker on July 17, 2011, 05:21:20 am
I've read the install thread and by no means am I disputing that the install method described is the correct way to go about things.

I just wanted to check, I have FS1, copied all the retail vps to the previous port version. Is there anything already in place that I don't need to re-download to save my precious precious bamdwith ;) ?

Thanks kindly.

Hmm? Do you mean to say that you are trying to use VPs straight from retail FS1? I don't think that will work out so well with FSPort.. The only thing that jumps to mind that may work would be warble.vp but I'm not optimistic.

While we're kinda on the subject, would it be possible for future releases to mark which downloads have been altered since the last release, so we're not spending time downloading components that are identical to the ones we may already have?

IIRC, Warble is the only one that hasn't changed. But sure we can do that.

Next release is likely that the tangos and warble won't change, but we'll see.
