Worrying Silent Threat Error Messages
I just got a joystick and am finally going to try out Silent Threat, but every time I load it up, I get this:
Quote
Error: Invalid ship type "SF Dragon#3 (Player)" found in $Ship Choices: of campaign file
File:D:\C++\Freespace\fs2_open\code\Parse\PARSELO.CPP
Line: 2490
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

Can I get tips on how to get rid of this?

(Where && When && How) did you get the files for the port? What version of FreeSpace Open are you using?

Re: Worrying Silent Threat Error Messages
Good catch.  I'll have to fix this in the download.

In the meantime, put the attached file in FreeSpace2\data\missions to fix it.

Re: Worrying Silent Threat Error Messages
Wow, thanks. I just have a couple of questions;

What's wrong?
How did you get a solution so quickly?
What is the file?
and
How the heck is sticking it in the Missions directory going to help?

I used ShivanSpS's download, by the way. Apparently it's port version 3.0.3, and launcher version 5.3. FSOpen is, I think, 3.6.8.

You're welcome. :)

What's wrong?
When we converted all the ship class names from the FS1 tables to the FSPort tables, we missed a spot.

The error message you posted was very descriptive. :)

That, and the fact that once I had opened up the campaign file, I realized I had encountered this problem before.  I wrote myself a note to fix it when I get back to my apartment.  (I'm on vacation right now.)

What is the file?
It's the campaign file for Silent Threat.

It is a fixed version of the file that's causing problems.  Putting it in the Missions directory will cause it to override the broken file in the Port installation.

The versions of the Port and FSOpen have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Re: Worrying Silent Threat Error Messages
Alright, thanks. You guys really worked hard on this, didn't you?

EDIT: A thousand curses! It's not working! I saved it to the Missions folder, what if I save it somewhere else?

EDIT AGAIN: Okay, pasted a copy into the FSPort folder, and it's working now.
