Well I have another problem with this mission. I manage to survive the "entering" of my ship by hitting tab an waving constantly. But in the secon part of the mission I´m not able to save the transports, no matter what I do. When the second transport is destroyed there comes a massage that a third one is deployed but some seconds later the mission is lost because the escorted ship is gone. I ordered each ship to defend the transports and I helped them, but this didn´t work. What to do?

Make sure you destroy the shivan transports as well.

Practice, or turn down the difficulty level.   The mission is scripted to destroy the science cruiser if you lose both transports.

I did this. No effect, the escorted transports die. Can this mission be skipped?

So I can jump out 5 times right after a few seconds or do I have to get destroyed (never skipped a mission so far, sorry).

Really, though, are you on Very Easy? This mission shouldn't be that bad...

I´m on easy and it´s really close...I´ll try it one more time    

Edit: I got it! Now I´m on M 9, and it´s a real great Campaign so far.

I'm trying to do this mission but the GTFr Lambda's keep getting stuck in the lower hull spines of the SD Demon Well sometimes they manage pass through but other times they don't and they just ram themselves dead. I'll FRED the mission file and move the GTFr's entry point but just wondered if anyone else has noticed this?

That happened when we were testing the mission.  I reworked it so that it didn't happen any more for me (nor has it happened for a large number of people) but if it's happening for you, just move the Demon entry point (not the freighter entry point).

Although - before you try changing the mission, make sure you have your mod command line set up properly.

You are almost guaranteed to break the mission if you open it in FRED then save it. Find the coordinates and change them in Notepad.

I altered my mod.ini based on the fsport release thread as below:

If you're playing a mod that uses FSPort, add 'fsport-mediavps' to the mod.ini just before 'fsport' in the SecondaryMod line.

This broke the mission further and the transports sat with no orders so I reset the mod.ini [multimod] section back to what Vasudan Commander recommended in point 2 of his guide on the STR release thread. I've now just played the mission and completed it and this time the GTFr transports appear to be behaving properly and not getting stuck in the SD's hull parts.

Fun thing, the first one I played it, I had called the reloading ship at the beginning of the mission. A couple seconds after my wingman told me something was on her ship (and before she blowed up), the loading ship arrived, so I saw that white thing on my screen, did not connect, and jumped in surprise. If it happened 10 seconds later (when you have the pop-up messages), I would have fainted, probably.
