It's cool that the Fenris managed to be copied so well, think you'll keep that copy there or was it removed afterwards?

As such, you can see that The End is perfect for placing FS2 ships, now we just need to make a 'starfield' behind the ship(s).

Confirmed from Jeb: new world height will be 256, with sea level and clouds remaining at their current heights (64 and 128, respectively).

Cool, 256 is a great step forward, glad to have it confirmed. 512 is quite insane, even for our hard-to-crash server, so let's go for the 256 limit first

Somehow I doubt it'll be long for some of us to reach that though.

Anyone know what this means for memory requirements?  If I recall, it was a pretty hefty increase on the load to raise the height limit, but maybe the code's better suited for it now than when Notch first experimented with it.

well..yea..but the composition is uniform. If you want to save that data, it's so easy to compress.
Heck, you don't even have to save those blocks. Save the DIFFERENCE.

So chucks above 64 height wuldn't even be saved unless there's something in them.
