Purchased FFVII, Minimum, One Finger Death Punch and Planetary Annihilation on steam the other day, and Deadnaughts a few weeks ago.

OFDP is beyond insane, but it makes me feel sad that 5 years ago, that would have been free to play on newgrounds.

Minimum is like Smite and Team Fortress (the original) had a lovechild that grew up to be a fan of mecha anime, minimalist art and dress up.

I'm installing PA now, and have high hopes.

And Deadnaughts somehow makes a game with nothing but an MFD with little blue icons for your squad and red blips and sinister snarls for the enemy, scary as ****.

I've been playing a lot of Warcraft 2 the last couple of weeks.

Game still kicks a ton of ass. Every time I go back to it I'm always surprised by just how damn good it is. It never seems to lose any entertainment value to me at all.

Tried to return to playing Assassin's Creed (one).  Now I remember what drove me away for so long.  I'm on the last mission.  I just played for HOURS, failing tasks over and ****ING over again because of the goddamn beggars and crazy people.  Does anyone know of a mod to get rid of them?  I searched for a good long while but it's next to impossible to find anything at all about the original instead of the new ones.  Moddb only had 5 mods total, all of which were texture related.

Is Assassin's Creed 2 (and follow) combat as horrendously broken as 1?  Cuz there's no way I'd buy it if it's not miles better than this ****.  The last few battles in this POS are just plain stupid.  Fight 20 guys at once, who have attacks that take away a quarter of your health that can't be blocked or countered in any way.  Oh, "defense" mode?  Yeah, that doesn't stop them.  Counter attack?  No, only if the game doesn't feel like making you wave your sword like a jackass instead.  Hey, let's put the camera behind a wall.  You know what else would be super fun?  No ability to save at any point in the super long and hardest combat sequence in the game.  Even right before fighting the boss with a single health bar.  Nope, do it all again ****er.

For such a good concept, AC1 fails pretty much across the board in execution and actual gameplay.  This must be at least partly due to the console port.  If it plays just as badly on console, I can't see how the series would have succeeded with a lead game like this.
