Just starting on Borderlands 2 that I got for free with my vid card like... 3 years ago?  However, unsure if I'll be missing stuff not having played 1.  Should I play 1 first to get the full story/experience?  I'll play something else from my backlog and wait for a sale on the original if so.  Rage is also calling out to me. 

Just as a general thought, holy HELL the DLC/micro transaction integration!  Jesus, how much crap do they want me to buy?  Even trying to get me to buy **** before I start playing with the two other characters.

Elite Dangerous. While it can be very empty and boring at times, I keep coming back to it after closing the game. There's something addicting about running trade routes, bounty hunting, and exploring that never seems to get old. Also, the sound design is just outstanding. I love hearing the popping of your thrusters as you open the throttle, and how you can hear the cockpit rattle when you engage the afterburners. Awesome.

Beat KOTOR over Christmas break (light side). Official favorite single-player game I've ever beaten. One of the male soldier portraits looks suspiciously like me, so I got to take screenshots of Jedi Me in epic white robes cutting down baddies with two lightsabers. KOTOR is basically the fulfillment of every kid's Star Wars fantasies.

Also, my brother gave me FTL: Faster than Light for Christmas. Roughly two dozen runs so far, only one of which was a win. And that's on easy.

So grinding out the Pak 43 L71 on the Nashorn was like pulling teeth.  The Pak 42 L70 is great gun on the assault chassis TDs but a tall tinfoil Nash cant just stand to and DPM the crap out of things with it.  Now that it has this lovely 88?  This thing is gravy   

Now all that's left is to brew up another 30000 XP on JagdPanzer IV and I'll have the JagdPanther with the Pk 43 ready to install right off the mark

Progress up the US lights is on track and I'll probably nab the T37 in the near future.  I'm also going to start hoarding the free xp so I can para drop into the Nippon Mediums as far up the food chain as possible.  Most of the line looks crap but from Tier VIII onward?

The Japanese T:3 and T:4 mediums are pretty nice, guns handle similar to the Brit guns and the tanks are able to keep up with scouting tanks fairly well, the only down side is they don't take much of a beating so remember to stay behind the front line until your target is distracted.


My main issue atm is coin, 900,000+ for T:6 tanks is killing me, have most of the brit tanks researched for T:6 but just cant seem to build up the capital to buy them before something else takes my fancy.

I have a similar problem with credits.
Just keeping it above 1mil is hard enough. I don't know how I'm going to afford the Tier X that I'm working on unlocking.

That said, high tier matches are my favorite. Teammates are generally smarter up there...

Remember that beyond Tier 6 it's deliberately very difficult to make money without a premium tank, and your credit earn rate is best probably at Tier 5.

Not really.  In fact, you may find yourself (like me) somewhat frustrated by the changes made to BL's pretty awesome loot system in BL2 (which is considerably less awesome in terms of its loot system functions).

Go ahead and dive into 2.

I got impatient, and did anyway .  I'm up to level 16, just rescued roland.  I sense a lot of the events and characters referred to happened in 1.  Even without comparison to 1, the loot system is a little aggravating in 2.  If one of the major elements of the game is looting, good GOD give us somewhere to put it.  And I feel like I'm awful far into the game without having all of my weapon slots yet.
