Attempting to start KOTOR.  Apparently it is really broken from steam.  Doing a lot of research to get the ****ing thing working.  This is the last time I'm dealing with this.  Henceforth if a game is available from GOG, I'm getting it there even if it costs more.

Honestly I think it has w7 or 64-bit issues. I had to fight a bit with it.

Windowed mode. That was important.

Deleting the intro movies at least got me to the point of my mouse and keyboard working in the main menu, and it actually running at the set resolution.  Haven't tried to go further than that yet.  I keep seeing on forums that people have to disable movies altogether.  That's frankly an unacceptable solution, to cut out what I'm assuming is an important plot delivery device.

Oh yeah... I remember the issues I had with KOTOR and getting to start it up.
I'm pretty sure that I didn't have to disable movies, though... (I do remember removing the intro movies)

You can try a virtual windows XP-32 emulation. (If you have the disk+key )

I have issues with Steam's Jedi Knight 1: no music, ever; and resolution screw ups. Gotta play in software render mode.

I've seen 5000 dmg done with just the 10.5 cm from the JP.

Walker Bulldog is pretty awesome, even stock its a dream.

Oh, I know the JP itself was good enough for the damage, but my problems with using it to complete the mission were either that it didn't have the armor, or the enemies didn't have the health pools.

I'm glad for the JPII's higher fire rate, while seeing higher tiers with more armor.

Been making serious progress in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth: have just unlocked It Lives and beaten the bosses of the Cathedral and Sheol at least once each.

This also means that *SUPER SECRET CHARACTER* is the only one I have yet to unlock, but I'm not sure I even want to try.


Going to be getting back into Mechwarrior Online, too, I think. It's been a while since I've played and apparently Community Warfare actually got introduced (flying pigs!) so I'd like to see how that's doing.

Was playing OOT 3D for quite a while yesterday.  Got most of the way through the forest temple, then accidentally turned off the machine.  I don't think I had saved since becoming adult link. 

Also bought Majora's Mask 3D.  I think I'm probably going to get a New 3DS (seriously, couldn't think of a better name nintendo?) so I'm gonna wait to play that one on the new system.  As long as I can sell my old one for a reasonable amount.  I'm hoping $100, but I'd still consider it at $75.

So I can get $60 for my 3DS... hmm.  Is upgrading worth $140?  I demoed one at best buy.  The face tracking 3d really does work well.  I wonder how well in a dark room though?

Just finished Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius.
I thought it was rather good for a free SRPG/VN. The soundtrack might entice me, at any rate.

But that soundtrack sounds suspiciously... *investigates* OH! That explains why the battle music sounds familiar and reminds me of Two Steps From Hell - It's actually by Epic Soul Factory!

I like the battle SFX sounds for the game, especially once the Sunrider itself is a force to be reckoned with.
I also like that the "command decisions" actually have an impact in the game.

I didn't realize until later that Mask of Arcadius was actually Part 2, and the game is Part 1 + Part 2 put together. (Part 1 is called First Arrival)
Part 3 of the trilogy is in beta right now, I think. I got the impression that Part 3 might act as an expansion of what's available now.

By the way, did you know that there's a "decensor patch"? In case you're interested in a couple of scenes towards the end of what's currently out.

But you're much more likely to be compatible with an R4 card which will let you replay all those classic nintendo roms you legally own and hold as backups
