Went ahead and bought it.  I should get $80 gift card for the trade in, which will go toward the laptop that I plan to buy now.  The deciding factor was that I just "worked" both nights this weekend wherein I had NOTHING to do.   I got paid 20 hours to sit in the office and dick about on the internet.  Checked in on things once per night just to make sure there was in fact nothing going on.   And I had the last 3 nights off for snow, so it didn't even really feel like weekend work.  It's almost going to cover the 3ds and laptop (before taxes).

Looked into that R4 thing, looks pretty cool.  Hopefully it will eventually work with the new 3ds.  I can't find anything that spells it out, but it seems to imply that you can use it to play videos and music.  That's what I would want it for more than roms.  The biggest and best of the old games I REALLY want to be able to play again are available as re-releases or virtual console already.

Picked up M46 Patton, stock is worse than my M26 Pershing.  Tier VII gun, actually gave up and started shooting prem.  Even only playing for the doubles I'm hemorrhaging credits, oh well 10,653xp to go for tracks.

Been playing some Busan Pocket on WG:RD. I'm actually getting kind of good at the game.

The North Koreans though, all those god damn tanks. Just sheer numbers of tanks.  At least the South Korean K-1 (when I need quality) and the M48A5K (when I need numbers fast) arent that bad quality wise. Its just they bring so many of them paired with Naplam equipped bombers. Such a pain.

Maybe I should try out the infantry squad I have that is equipped with Rocket Launchers loaded with Naplam rounds?

Good music and graphics though, the weapon and enemy variety seems a bit lacking and the game is often too easy.

Yeah, everything I've read indicates it will be fun bruiser once its fully kitted out.  I managed to get the tracks on so I loaded up the intermediate modules.  Still going to be a long road to the top gun/turret/engine but now its a M26 with a slightly less troll turret but a faster firing Long 90mm, which is quiet a bit more workable.

Finished OOT 3D.  I REALLY want to dive straight in to Majora's Mask, but I'm trying to make myself go play phantom hourglass (which I haven't played before) first.  Or at least finish off Luigi's Mansion (which has been really slow going since I don't think it's nearly as good as the original).

Link between worlds wasn't bad, but it was less than I was expecting.  I thought with the 3DS it would be much... bigger.  It sure looked nice but didn't quite get that... epic...ness(?) that is characteristic of zelda games to me.  I haven't played Link to the Past (yet).  I've only played Link's Awakening of the handhelds - and the original grey brick version at that, and it felt bigger and grander.

Well, the Wings update for Elite: Dangerous yesterday pretty much assuaged the only really large complaint I had with that game, so uh...been playing a bit of that.

And by a bit I mean a lot.

I am currently trying for the Army of Four achievement in XCOM Enemy Within, Classic difficulty.

The second wave options are cool - hidden potential, not created equally, and training roulette especially have some very interesting effects that change the game.  Love them.  That said, Classic is ****ing hard and even more so with only four soldiers. Currently save-scumming my way through, mostly.

And I just took down two Kawachii (Tier 3 BB), a Wickes (Tier 3 DD), and a Saint Louis (Tier 3 armored cruiser) in the same match with a Sampson (Tier 2 DD), and lived to tell. 2406 XP on a non-boosted match.
