Playing Galactic Civ II again.

Fantastic game going. I have more colonies and population than anyone else, my approval among the people is near-perfect, my economy neck-to-neck with the other two strongest in the galaxy, I have a greater industrial base than everyone else combined, and I'm on good diplomatic terms with all the most powerful civs. My military is pretty weak, but if anyone dares attack me I can sic the two military superpowers on them in my stead, and they know that. Things are going great...

I went to play Grand Theft Auto Online with the boyfriend, but he's horrible at it. He's more into things like Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Beyond Two Souls and so on, which I'm not. I think he mistook the third person gameplay and storyline of GTA for being a similar game, which it simply isn't.

I got sick of Mass Effect 3 (as far as my Insane Infiltrator run goes [which was just Mantis/Black Widow kills everything], I don't care that I stopped at the Marauder Shields cheap shot), so back going through the Metroid Prime Trilogy (just got the Space Jump Boots in 1).


EDIT: I just beat Prime 1, 91% in 07:34 on Veteran (GCN Normal). Would have been 6:45 had I not been futzing around looking for things.

Not playing yet, and I don't know where else to talk about it so thought I'd blurb here. I'm making a pen-and-paper RPG (Think D&D) but based around space exploration and combat. The system is based on the World of Darkness (Because Dot systems are soo easy) and the campaign is being heavily based on Freespace 2. The gameplay will be a combination of Freespace 2 style Capital Ship Combat crossed with Star Trek influences, especially when it comes to away teams and such. However, it will also incorporate capture of vessels, (requiring breaching in some cases) CQB, Scientific Exploration, Policing, Medical Relief, and anything else you could think a non-wartime spaceship would be needed for.

I'm pretty excited.

Basically this. The players will be armed with powerful laser weapons when in combat situations, complete with armour and in some cases, power armour, when available. There will be times when no weapons are necessary, or other times when you have to breach your way in. Mind you, these are players, so they could end up just blowing everything up anyway. Will still be fun, though.
