Re: What are you playing right now?
Fully upgraded M46 is a beast, the gun handling, DPM and vision of her 105mm coupled with top turret is fantastic and the top Continental engine has plenty of power to scoot around.  I'm plugging away at getting my first MOE and fixing the stats she acquired during the painful grind to top config.  As long as I don't frak up and let her down she just delivers the damage.

So I got sucked into Final Fantasy XIV. It's pretty good. I hope I can stay interested for long enough, no other MMO has managed to really hold my attention, since FFXI.

The new CQC game mode for Elite: Dangerous is crazy good fun. Fast paced 6DOF dogfighting in and around structures is right up my "things that make me joyful" alley.

F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter 2.0. Got it for 89 cents on Steam, how could I pass that up? Still has that F-19 vibe about it, but I miss those post-briefing scenes (your character in a bar with other guys, see the attachment).

Whew! I still play that from time to time. The 'graphics' are hilariously dated now but honestly, the gameplay itself still holds up pretty well. Planning a mission properly and getting in and out without getting detected is just as satisfying as ever. And getting out after getting detected and the **** hits the fan is just as tense.

Just unlocked the final ship in FTL: Faster than Light (the Shrike, which is a pretty awesome one). Felt awesome for a couple days, then the "Now what?" started. The answer: a rockin' good mod called FTL: Captain's Edition.
Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move." - Captain America

Re: What are you playing right now?
Been playing Soma on the weekend nights ... kinda tickels the same fancy as Amnesia: The Dark Decent did (well same devs so yeah), but not quite

They did a good job handcrafting their envoirments but the overall "functional" look of all the places I've been so far don't work for the atmosphere ... the closest comparisons I can make are Bioshock's Rapute (where you could sense the elegance and glamour that must have been in the designs, instilling you with a sense of melancholy) and Amnesia: The Dark Decent's Manor/Castle (which had the haunting feeling that you are not suposed to be alone to it)... there is no question as to why these envoirments are empty due to their functionality (from the get go you know something is broken, even before you encounter your first "patroler" or learn something about the world).

There seems to be some larger psychological game underneath it all .... but I haven't gotten very far so see it all and put it together (I kinda like hunkering down in a corner for a good long time before moving at times ... kinda shows that the games does its job :D )
Spoiler:
Let's just say that your humanity is question, both in the terms of morality ("un-plugging" seems to be a going theme to some of your actions) and ontologically (robots with personalities from human brain scans *hint*hint*)

I might open a threat about the game sooner or later (if I can stop looking into an in-game wall because ... reasons...)

7 Days to Die on a private server with some friends, can't believe I've already put nearly 200 hrs into it...

Squad Alpha, it's nice. Haven't played Project Reality before but on it's own, this handles rather well. No vehicles yet, so if your squad lead doesnt make FOBs or spawn points, you have to spend several minutes trying to cross the map. Combat is quick and dirty, a good squad and team work will help you survive. Graphics are nice, it's all well implemented so far in my opinion.
Current Activities/Projects: Ideas and some storyline completed.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Friend of mine gave me a copy of the Destiny base game. All I can say is that it's a good thing this thing looks, sounds and plays amazingly, because the storytelling in the early game is laughably bad. "I don't have time to explain why I don't have the time to explain", says a character in a cutscene while wasting time bickering with their mission control and stomping dead robot in the chest.

Seriously, if this wasn't hands down the best FPS I've played in years, I wouldn't be playing it.

I wonder if by the time it comes to PC, the hype will be over and not even be worth it?

Re: What are you playing right now?
I think Destiny has enough going for it that if it comes to PC, it'll still be worth it. A lot of the reasons I decided not to buy into the game when it came out at first were fixed in the subsequent expansions, and Destiny 2.0 makes the experience of the base game much better.

Re: What are you playing right now?
For a few weeks i am playing The World Ends with You on an DS Emulator for my YouTube channel.
Last week i get my first ever Android Smartphone... and i am started the Solo Remix Remake Android Version of this game yesterday ^^.

The differences in gameplay between this two versions are very interesting. But i have to say... i like the remade soundtrack MUCH more.

Also i started with Way of the Samurai 2 on my PS2 yesterday. WTF! This is much more like a Samurai Simulator... you do not get any tutorial, because you have to find the Dojo in this city. But on this way you could easily tap into fights you do not know to handle.
Even i played the first one some months ago, this game seems to have similar controls, but is a whole different experience. It feels much harder.
Shivan here, Shivan there, Shivan everywhere.

My english isn't very well, so sorry for a few mistakes.

FreeSpace Let's Plays on my Channel:
| The Great War | Silent Threat | Operation Templar | Silent Threat: Reborn | Shivans - Phantoms | Shivans - Echo Gate | Shrouding the Light: Origins | Shrouding the Light | Cardinal Spear | Cardinal Spear: Vega | Awakenings | The Destiny of Peace | Between the Ashes: Mefistofele

Re: What are you playing right now?
Just got off of the Star Wars Battlefront demo.
... I like it.

Still, there's plenty of content that wasn't playable. So, we'll see how that turns out.

In the meantime, I'm playing through Black Mesa.

I've ploughed through destiny. Hype wore off slowly once Maxxed out. All over MGO on ps4 and Vega conflict on android atm.

can't promote vega conflict enough. Alliance makes the game for me.
Campaigns I've added my distinctiveness to-

-Battle of Neptune
-Between the Ashes 2

Re: What are you playing right now?
By now you may have heard of Undertale. If you haven't yet played it, go do so. It's excellent.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Managed to hunt down a AC5 disc so I can legally emulate it. I don't think I would be able to play it with the default controls, had to re-bind everything through emulation. This does have the side-effect of making menu navigation a bit awkward but it's definitely worth it.
The story was engaging but I couldn't shake off the feeling that I'd much rather be flying in Vector Thrust instead. Vector thrust's campaign might be crap but the actual flying felt like it addressed everything I thought was wrong with AC.
I also didn't like how difficulty levels are locked away until you beat the game, the highest default difficulty "Hard" is a complete cakewalk, I think I took damage like 3-5 times through the whole campaign and only failed a mission once due to timeout(was too busy trying to wipe everything off the map and didn't even notice the time).
