Re: What are you playing right now?
I just finished the Ancient-Shivan War, and am now playing Silent Threat Reborn.  I had started the original Silent Threat but never finished it.
Just remember, when something weird happens hit the burners.

I've unlocked all Endings in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
I had to use a map to 100% the castle and get a couple of the most elusive souls, others instead required a massive amount of farming (to the point that by the time I've got all of them I was level 73), but the most bewildering thing is that the second to last souls I've got (peeping eye) would have let me dispense with the map and the last one that simply never dropped (even with the ring) was essentially useless by the time I've got it.
Harmony of Dissonance was better, it didn't require all that senseless farming and grinding to unlock all the endings.
Isn't the "best" ending from 100%-ing your soul collection literally just one line of dialogue changed from the regular "good" ending? I mean, AoS is one of my favourites so I've 100%-ed it from scratch, like, three or four (or five or six or... possibly ten or more) times, but if grinding for souls isn't fun for you, the only thing you'd miss out on is the Chaos Ring, which is pretty pointless since there's nothing left to use it to help you unlock.

Yeah, but I tend to fixate on getting the best ending no matter what, and yes, by the time you get all souls you are so powerful the chaos ring doesn't really matter, the final boss with a few health potions was really easy without using the mp meter in any way.

Got to Kaer Morhen to fight the Hunt. The instant the battle begun, the quest "Berengars sword: step one: talk to Vesemir" failed. I wonder, why. Surely nothing bad would happen to Vesemir, right?

After way too long, three playthroughs, and several grinding sessions... I have unlocked the Dark Soul achievement in the first game.

Now as for the other two...  :blah:

Half-Life
Going through surface tension at the moment, boy, I remember this game like it was yesterday.

After way too long, three playthroughs, and several grinding sessions... I have unlocked the Dark Soul achievement in the first game.

Now as for the other two...  :blah:
That's the only game I ever did all the achievements for, it wasn't as difficult as I thought.

My steam achievements for Dark Souls are bugged out. Right now I'm in the Royal Garden fighting Artorias and apparently I've never been to Anor Londo or Rung the bells.

Yeah, coming back from Dark Souls 3 the first game seems almost like a cakewalk. The only fight that gave me any trouble was Pikachu and Snorlax (because I'm not entirely sure it's even possible to not have some trouble with that fight).

Though that might also be due to having a +15 Great Scythe, aka the ultimate dexterity murder weapon.

Did you transfer your data over from a non-Steam install? Because that might be the issue.

Wasn't Dark Souls was also connected to GfWL previously?

In Italy they usually call them Gianni e Pinotto (Abbot and Costello), but they really gave me problems only on NG+.

There's a huge number of nicknames for the Super Londo Bros, people are always inventing new ones.

Yes it was. There was much rejoicing when it switched over to Steam.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Star Wars: X-wing vs Tie Fighter: Balance of Power
I did the last two combat engagements.
The attack on the imperial shipyard would be obscenely easy on the rebel side if done in coop with human players even without any escort (just make sure everyone turns off as many systems as possible and assign target accordingly, the capital ships in this mission are almost all without shields apart from the corvette inside the shipyard), in single on hard however the only hope is order your wingmen to attack the closest capital ship and go for the corvettes with shields and lasers turned off and fire flares untile you are (hopefully) out of reach of the imperial fighter, a full volley of advanced torpedoes each and then deal with the last one inside the shipyard with two volleys, spend the last one on the escort carrier and try to hyper out to get a fresh fighter once out of the shipyard so as not to lose points. All this while trying to direct your wingmen to one of the two frigates after they destroy the strike cruiser.
Now, if you are lucky and the wingmen destroyed the first frigate you can direct them at the second one once you return out of hyperspace and make your attack run to finish off the escort carrier hoping the Tie Advanced don't get you first which is purely a matter of luck at this point.
Now, if you are very lucky your wingmen will destroy the second frigate and with that gone toghether with the escort carrier is mission accomplished, if not hyper out (or more likely get killed) and make the attack run gainsta the last frigate yourself hoping that you haven't already run out of craft waves.

The imperial side would be a cakewalk in both single and multiplayer, after all Tie Advanced and modified Interceptors against unescorted B-wings should be a piece of cake, would you say?
Of course not!
When playing on the imperial side the B-wings have X-wings from Rogue Squadron escorting them, and they will specifically target the player if you intercept the B-wings too early by turning off your systems to boost your speed.
You won't die as much as the rebel version of the mission of course but keeping the B-wings from destroying everything when those X-wings harass you with their concussion missiles is extremely difficult, when I finally made it only one ship survived and this after three or four failed attempts.

Regarding the last combat engagement, which was a sort of "duel" between a rebel dreadnought and an imperial strike cruiser there is nothing particular to say: just dumbfire your rockets than hyper or return to the hangar and repeat until the enemy capital ship is dead.

I've finished Half-Life
It took little more than 9 hours, I remembered it much longer.

Also considering my reflexes today seem to have taken a vacation I decided to create a HOTAS profile for X-wing Alliance, having a rudder axis in a X-wing game just feels weird.

Yes and also Yes.

Btw, I'm up to Artorias and the only reason I keep dying is because I **** up and get hit by one of his 1 hitters like his downward smash or lunge attack. I'm basically wearing nothing since armour only seems to hinder me in this fight and wielding the DarkKnight ShortSword. I tried using a maxed Lighting Katanna on him but that didnt really work out. I guess the only reason I'm dying is cause of my nerves.

Re: What are you playing right now?
The 1-3 somersaults don't track you once you he jumps up so rolling to either side the minute he jumps works. Is the lunge you're talking about his jumping one or his slide? The jumping one can mess up rolls since he'll usually end up behind you when he does it and you can accidentally roll into him with the camera switch.

Also 2-handing can help you stop him from buffing himself if you didn't already know. If you're using a greatsword (the black knight sword is one) it takes 2 or 3 hits with it two handed to stop the buff. You'll have to immediately run up and start wailing on him otherwise you won't have enough time or you won't break his poise.

He is resitant to all elemental damage as well as slash damage ... Thrusting dmg seems to get through pretty well though and lighter Spears tend to have quick enough animations for the fight

Re: What are you playing right now?
I saw giant swirling pool of abyss energy and thought "Walking in that stuff doesnt sound like a good idea so lets Lightning Spear his ass!". His charge up allows for two Lightning Spears that do jack all, that and he can dodge the second one as it just hits as he's fully on his feet.

Also the thing that gets me is the sliding one and the growling wind up leap downward slam attack (GWULDSA?Hehehehe). I always get him to about one more hit and he manages to get me with either of them. I always have plenty of Estus, I ussually only use like 2 or 3 during the fight. But I reckon I could've beaten him second try if I had known about the fact that you can stop him from charging up.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Oh, by the way, the Dark Souls 1 community is planning a resurgence this Friday called "Global Restart Day", where everyone creates a brand-new character and replays the game from the start.

So, expect to see some more multiplayer action (both invasions and jolly cooperation) come the weekend.

Re: What are you playing right now?
I finished KOTOR 2. Great game overall, with a much better story than the usual Star Wars fare or even the first game. I like how the Jedi are presented as arrogant and self-serving, and not so different from the Sith, although the game still forces you to choose between light and dark sides. It still has the crappy dice-rolling RPG gameplay, but fights become trivially easy later on and my character was doing 300+ damage per turn by the end (which is good, so you can spend more time with the story and dialogue). The content restoring mods are a must, as they include some of the best parts of the game like the HK factory despite having a few glitches.

Also a fun fact is he can stack his buffs. If you're playing a character who can't break his poise, he'll start doing this towards the end of the fight.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Star Wars: X-wing Alliance
I've been playing the first couple of missions while fiddling with the HOTAS profiles (though I thought by then to have done all the fiddling necessary but I forgot to map the nav buoy key and had to shuffle a few things around in the profile because I didn't want to move it to mode 2 to facilitate quick getaways and didn't want to make a second profile for the flyable imperial crafts in the simulator) with the xwaupgrade craftpack installed (which is a blessing, I still remember when you had to download and install the single crafts one by one).
There are also some nice hi res skyboxes in the pack itself, although I still don't understand why the Tie Fighters cockpits need to have a specific resolution selected during installation (fortunately my screen is 1280x1024, so no dilemmas there) everything seems to run perfectly fine for now.
Is it me or the targeting system is a bit less precise than in XvT?
I noticed that sometimes it doesn't seem to account for laser drift as efficiently as the older games, perhaps to compensate for the newly introduced laser convergence?

I finished KOTOR 2. Great game overall, with a much better story than the usual Star Wars fare or even the first game. It's not exactly like that, remember that the one who says that of the Jedi is not exactly an uninterested party.
Also, light and dark are intrinsic to the force, many forget that the dark is supposed to be highly addictive and tends to mess with the emotional balance of a dark side user making more even more difficult to break the addiction.
It would be perhaps more realistic if the dark was sort of a one-way street and the light was more of a very narrow bridge that's easy to fall off from, which is also why you-know-who wanted to do what they wanted to do as whatever way a force user might choose they are not really free.
