Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas.

Amazingly, after 15 years, I still find it to be a very difficult game. :wtf:

Re: What are you playing right now?
Finished Metroid Prime Trilogy (I don't know why, but Prime 2 ended up feeling like a chore due to having to sweep every place again to find the Final Nine Keys), doing a bit of Hyrule Warriors, and Another Metroid 2 Remake (the final-ish release... it's happening).

I can't wait to get my hands on the trilogy.... I just need to get a console and it... at and affordable price.

Yeah, the disc's limited run means it's [probably] hideously expensive physically, but if you have a Wii U, it's only $20 on digital.

Not counting the added cost of a Wii controller... but the port seems fairly okay, so you should go with that

Quake & STO.

The latter recently added JJ-Prise content with the new expansion. I laugh every time I see a JJ-Item, they have lens-flares on the icons and the special effects. \

Just started South Park: Stick of Truth.  Huge fan of the show, but so far not as good.  Lot of predictable, low hanging fruit jokes.  Just barely into it though, hopefully it gets better.

I've just completed it. Must say that is one of the best games of the whole franchise. In terms of the story at least. Gameplay is fine but not brilliant. Side missions are very repetitive and are getting boring quickly. Main plot is also pretty short. But Shay's story gives us a completely different experience which I enjoyed very much :)

And the absolute worst UI, up until Terran Conflict. If only I didn't enjoy driving those ships around so much, I wouldn't have to subject myself to that terrible engine.

In that game you stay in time compression mode 90% of the time, also the flying is just boring, in Terran Conflict they didn't even bother with multiple device support, it's there in theory but it's buggy/limited enough I had to make a profile like it was an early windows game.

It's essentially a 4x game from first person perspective, and while it's fun for a while it also perfectly represents what I find unappealing about the "trade 'em up" subgenre of spacesim, if I wanted a space trading 4x I'd have bought one I can play just by pointing and clicking.

Re: What are you playing right now?
I played the Dungeons 2 for a while now. It is pretty good at obscuring the frankly low production quality and I find that adorable in a way. If only it had enough content so it didn't need to drag out everything as much as it does. I would like to finish it, but it just takes too long now to get anywhere.
Oh guys, use that [ url ][ img ][ /img ][ /url ] :/

What's left?

But Shay's story gives us a completely different experience which I enjoyed very much :)

Well, he seems to be grunting a lot louder than other protagonists (which is also in a distinctive lower register than his dialogue) .... I am getting a lot of flashbacks to ACIV just from the naval combat (leading me to overextend a lot) but naval was what I liked about IV

Re: What are you playing right now?
I finished Dreamfall Chapters. It's decent overall, occasionally amazing, occasionally terrible, and mostly just average. The story starts off great but then drags on with fairly minor events for most of the game, until the last book where a lot of key plot information suddenly gets dumped on you. Zoe and Kian are better developed as characters than in Dreamfall, and they nailed Crow perfectly, easily the best character in the game. Most of the other characters have motivations that don't make sense and are never well explained, although the ending wraps up most of the loose ends from Dreamfall (without really explaining anything in detail). The hub worlds and environments are very well designed and have a decent amount of interactivity, but there are very few actual puzzles and the last book is almost entirely cutscenes. The game still feels drawn out due to your sluggish movement speed and you spend too much time just running between places. The writing and dialogue are often laughably bad in the first few books (and full of F-bombs that sound out of place), but become much better later on.

Spoiler:
I like how the Azadi try to rid the world of magic in favor of steampunk science (just like the Thief Hammerites), but the main antagonist who leads them is a very cliched Darth Vader knockoff and feels like he was thrown in late in the game's development, as he isn't mentioned at all until the last book or two. A few parts of the game are absurd, e.g. at one point you have the option to kiss a suspicious woman who you barely know and may be an enemy. If you don't react in time, she turns away and the game decides you're gay later on, which people refer to. WTF? However, the very last part of the ending with Lady Alvane reminiscing 60 years later is fantastic, and much more thoughtful than I was expecting from the rest of the game.
