Just found TerraFirmaCraft.  I don't have the ambition to install it at the moment, but It looks pretty good for those who want a more realistic experience.

Tried it, it's a little *too* realistic. I feel like a cave man trying to cobble stuff together with rocks and sticks. Takes ages to get anything substantial, and the systems cannot be automated, everything has to be done manually.

But if you really like clicking and dragging stuff that's the mod for you.

When minecraft 1.3 rolls around, BTW is going to be getting a massive update adding it's largest feature yet that's taken 4 times longer to code than it's previously most advanced feature (platforms)...no one knows what it is yet tho. Despite all the trash talk which I doubt anyone here is following anyway, FlowerChild is one of the most skilled modders on MCF, so any update he's putting that much work into is going to be epic.

why? my reasons for running my server are different from those qaz is running his. besides, it gives a smidge more choice to people as to which server they want to play on.

Changed my preferences for the biome fix actually when you can get around to it qaz. Would like all the area within my stone wall turned into jungle biome (so kitties can spawn <3), and a randomly shaped ring of normal forest biome around that so it blends in better. However I'm not exactly sure how complex it is to get patterns like that using the program since I havn't tested it yet...if it's too difficult don't worry about the outer ring. Will hopefully be able to test it myself soon-ish...will let you know.

Also save the co-ords you use for the program...since jungle biome may end up being way too green in which case I'll stick with plain forest...can't really tell until I see it x.x

I was trying to show someone round the fenris today, realised i have no ****ing idea where anything is, so I'm currently rendering a load of cross sections of it so people can see how detailed the inside is.

Image is blurry due to blender antialiasing filtering being a dick, that and defaulting to bilinear interpolation.
there's 160 of the bastards and they're taking 2 mins each to render because I'm using ambient occlusion and like, what 4 megapixel images. I'll stick them up i either an imgur album or a zip for people to have their fun with.

Don't spend your time on the entire thing just yet though - we don't have any crew quarters yet! Perhaps just render every 7 blocks, since that's how far apart the decks are?
