Title: Has this anything in common with the campaign "Neo Terra"?
Post by: MC_Kejml on October 11, 2008, 09:28:30 am
The title says it all. I found a campaign on Freespace mods or Moddb.com, that was called "Neo-Terra". The starting missions were hard as  :nervous:, and I only got through them on very easy. Then, the difficulty started to cease and the conclusion was that

Spoiler:
The node to Epsilon pegasi was collapsed, but not the one to Vega. The NTF controlled it at the time.

So - has this big project anything to do with the other campaign?

Same concept (fighting on the NTF side) but no, it's completely separate.

In Neo Terra the NTF has a Raynor class destroyer, the Terra Firma, and blasts the GTVA. That is not going to happen in NTV.

And what about the 'NTD Hades II'? Has it been dropped?

I don't tend to add stuff that is not plausible. The NTF lasts something like 19 months, only the development of ships like the Iceni is plausible for that time delay.

I thought this was an alternative universe scenario? (ie. Neo-Terra "Victorious")

So? Victorious doesn't necessarily mean "in possession of extra powerful weapons that, who knows why, they're far superior to the ones employed by the GTVA".

The key word is Plausible so no exaggerated stuff unless all other team members and Goober have a different opinion on this matter. The NTF is a canon faction so we can't give it all the power we want...

Hmm... I concur, but I was only assuming that if the NTF crushed the GTVA, they'd have enough time and resources to build a whole new Hades... Remember there were rumors the GTVA were trying to do this too (Hades TD).

Well anyway, I cherish plausibility. Plausibility is good. Or your campaign is busted.

The NTF isn't going to crush the GTVA. It'd be an impossible achievement.

:bump:

So what you're trying to say is that the NTF leaves a dent in the GTVA large enough for them to consider giving the NTF its own territories?

Yep. The main FS2 campaign says that's what the GTVA would do if things went badly in one of the missions.

In ANY of the missions, really. If Alpha 1 dies, the NTF wins.

Then you could add the objective "Destroy Alpha 1"... :drevil:

Somehow take down the Colossus, and the GTVA will be forced to recognise the NTF authority in Sirius, Regulus and. . . forgot the 3rd system. That's because the GTVA wouldn't be able to deal with the NTF and Shivans at the same time, without having the Colossus.

What were the 3 systems the NTF occupied?

Sirius, Regulus, Deneb.

What the NTF could do is to conduct a stealth or behind-the-lines mission and somehow get people to plant bombs on the Colossus just before it launches.

Sirius, Regulus, and Polaris. That made the contested systems Epsilon Pegasi, Alpha Centauri, and Deneb.

Thanks. For some reason I just forgot them.

And the Colossus can already be deployed to beat it anyway. You just have to stop supplies for it, and conduct surgical strikes. And then, when it's at the weakest moment, hit it with all you got.

Ooh, damn, Galemp. Thanks for the correct answer. :p

I always thought that Deneb was a controlled system because of the NTF Boadicea...

It was the opposite - the Boadicea was on a secret mission and its presence was unknown. It wasn't there simply because the system was secured by NTF forces.
