I just got Earth and Beyond in a value pack with Renegade, Freedom Force, and Need for Speed III

My question is the following:

Can the game be played adequately on a 56k modem?

And please no cracking wise from those of you with obscenely fast connections(Tiara and others), I can't help it that I live in the second most technologically backward state in the United States.
