Looking for an old game, WW2 era, Allies versus Nazis. Basically it had a map on the campaign screen, like an area of a country, and it showed all the sections. In the game, you controlled squads of units and whatever, and you could set infantry to crouch/crawl and also hide in buildings and fire out. I think it may have been C&C.

are those games freeware now? i played the demo to... 4 of them, and i loved them all (in case you're wodering, the only one i didn't try was the original)
