Well, in order to get proper feedback from our fans (and to test the neat new vB forum features that Shrike paid for and suffered so much through my crappy dial-up to put online), I'm posting a poll to learn what people you want from Machina Terra.
It's simple: vote for the one you'd like, and the most voted request will be fulfilled. So, go ahead!
-
All of it of course :D
-
Speaking of cutscenes....Styxx...we gotta talk again....
-
Other #1:
How about a game? :)
-
Other...
EVERYTHING!!!11
-
I made the first vote when Styxx posted it:D
I would like to see some cutscene shots.
-
All of the above!!!(http://www.egri.co.uk/smileys/devil-naughty.gif):D
-
Okay, so far the cutscene preview is winning... I'll give you a couple more days to vote, so go ahead and tell me what you want! :D
-
I want more renders, coz everything else I can already see it :p
-
:)
-
I want...a finished MT campaign! But if I can't have that, how about...a little of everything! or at least...one of the above, preferably a MOD or a cutscene. :)
So, how is progress going?
-
Well, it seems we'll be releasing some cutscene preveiws eh? Expect updates soon... :)
-
My other is a completed campaign too. I know, it's all too easy to just do lots o' updates... and never get the real campaign done. That's happened to a few people I know... :o
-
Well, you will be getting a completed campaign - it's just that everyone will start bugging me if I don't update the site. If you think it's better this way, I can stop posting updates and just focus on the actual development... :)
-
I think that would be heaps better... then we can get on with The Plan™ - maybe we could have a really, really basic update thing which takes no effort to keep up (unlike publicity renders or forum frequenting), but lets people know we're alive, and making progress. :)
-
Styxx, I was so freaking impressed with your last trailer, I couldn't help but vote for a cutscene. I found the fiction boring and hard to follow. I liked the other fiction about the experimental fighter being sent to a system with a black hole in it. And then destroying all the shivans. That was cool

Maybe you should try to understand it.
If you already did, try again. Harder.
-
It wasn't hard to follow at all! The one about the scientists and the thing they made was boring, but it wasn't hard to follow. The other stuff was cool, especially the Nyx.
me wants a finished campaign methinks. screw the updates.
-
Well, I can't hope that everyone will like the stories, but I certainly hope that you'll like it a bit better when you find out the truth about The Prototype during the Machina Terra Campaign.
And since it seems to be everyone's opinion, we're now postponing any and all major updates to the site to focus on actual development. Hopefully, there's a section of the website that will be constantly updated though - the Progress Status Page. ;)
-
The Hacker? where did you get that from?
-
Oh, it's a looong story. And yes, it's because of that Hacker. ;)
-
Poor me...
-
well at least post something in the forums
-
Okay, okay. I thought you wanted us to work in silence... plotting on our dark dungeons for the time when the campaign would be released in it's full glory... but then again, gotta keep people interested. Check back in a couple of minutes.
-
Good thing you didn't say 'cold' dungeon, because it's not cold here. ;)

When IS the campaign coming, BTW?
And when are you releasing that dudealicious space station?;)
-
The campaign will be coming out sometime before the next ice age, if all goes well. :D
Now, seriously, we're starting to accelerate again on mission work, and the mods are nearing completion - specially since two most esteemed and needed staff members just got back from "hibernation".
-
Yay! ........ er, I won't let the cat out of the bag.
-
cutscene DEFINATELY to show that this thing is actually hehe alive
-
Me want mod!
GIMME! :D
-
*pokes MT with a stick*
Nope, it ain't dead. Nor sleeping, for that matter.
-

We're looking into it. Why, you wish to help? :D ;)
-
Eep! :nervous:
Sure, I'd be happy to lend a hand.
-
not enought we want 1 hand and 2 fingers !:D
-
So whats the deal Sticks?
Anything new to report?
-
Hm, sorry, nothing new on the public front. Rest assured that we're working though, even if it's on our usual pace.
;)
-
ermmm...is the website ever going to be updated? Just curious...
I mean like, sometime between now and the release...
-
as soon as something changes
-
What do I want...well I want to play this mod. It was the first mod I have ever seen and its still in development.
I realy hope to see anything new about the mod soon.
-

They need help with that:D
-
wow, I remember when this mod used to be all big and would give all kinds of updates an-- oh wait, no I don't........ :doubt:
-
Maybe they should release something to make people remember...
Like, a demo or a video that's already done?
-
hey what a novel idea!
*cough* *cough*
-
I decided to stop trying to keep people interested - I'll just get them interested again when it's done. It's not like a whole lot of people will take note if we release something anyway, and it's not like I'll actually get some help on finishing it.
:p

Heh, I guess that's what people get when they don't use italics.
-
Am I the only crazy cracka that wants to see this campaign finished? What's happening guy's?!?!
-
secret staff;)
-
We're working, we're working. Lots of bumps and stops along the road, but we're still going.
-
Good thing, that. The first time I got here I gained the impression that it's a totally professional project, except it was a totally dead professional project (you'll forgive me given that I was going off your forums). Good to know you're still kicking. :)
-
The thing is, unlike most of the other campaign projects, I want to keep most of the content to be released only when the campaign itself is done. I could post pics of all the ships, weapons, cutscenes, etc. etc., but then what would be the fun when the campaign was finally released?
:)
-
No fun at all, I tell ya.
*goes to watch the latest video again*
-
actually alot of things have been happening that have prevented work from progressing faster than it has.....stopping work to tweak an area, my life, more area tweaking, me, and oh yeah, did i mention tweaks? Some tweaks will not even be seen in the game, but serve to make the building process more streamlined. Styxx is doing a hell of a job as mod leader, and hopefully the fredding will be done in a few months time, then a few more months for voices.
please don't volunteer for voices right now though, we want to hold off on that until the fredding is nearly complete. once that happens, we will hunt voices.
-
when MT is ready peoples cannot say anything they must do this
   :D
-
[zombie voice]Models.... Lots of models...[/zombie]
And don't forget the tables to go with them.
-

Which is much better then just having a lot of ships for the sake of it.
From what I have seen of the work in MT, it is top-notch. :)
-
you see when we are done with MT:)
-
I want it done. So what are you doing in here? Go! Finish!
-
We're working, we're working. Lots of bumps and stops along the road, but we're still going.
:)
oh and peoples don`t wait news about MT you will know when we are ready:)
-
do i need any more freders for Machina terra because i think i can help.
-
Taking over the project now, are we?
sorry, couldn't help it....
-
In all actuality styxx has relinquished control of this Mod to me. I now have absolute autonomy as far as the production of MT. Of course then i woke up to Styxx beating the hell out of me. :D
Aldi, I am lead fredder for MT, add me to ICQ, or PM me and we can talk, i am always in the Market for new talent.
But if you really want an update as to the progress of MT, here it is.......some stuff got done.:ha:
-
I just want the whole thing now! :D
-
this forum is as active as TT forum :D
-
we are building MT in secret base:D
-
This thread and this forum are actually being not being replied to at all. Styxx has enabled the staff to transmit directly to your subconscious mind, and you only think you are seeing this forum. Further, there is actually no Machina Terra Mod. Well I am not technically correct in that, there is a mod, it exists, but only in our heads, as we of the MT staff share our thoughts....and Styxx head is a scary place to be. I digress, When you download MT, you will actually be downloading nothing but a conscious thought, which is being placed into your subconscious by what Styxx invented and HiG calls "The Pink Leg Warmers of Speed".
How do they work?
Styxx puts the Pink Leg Warmers on and begins humming the theme from "Leave it to Beaver", once this has been happening for at least 12 minutes, he puts his cigar out in a Rum and Coke, at which point the resulting temperature rise coupled with the sonic vibrations of "Leave it to Beaver" turn the grass outside his house blue. Once the grass is blue he rolls some into a piece of paper and he then lights a marble on fire (which is a hell of a trick) using the marble as his new incendiary device he quickly lights the leg warmers on fire and then dowses them witht he rum and coke. After all of this it is a simple matter of adding three hot pepper seeds to a duracell battery, with a twist of lemon, and then using a penny and a screwdriver to run current through the leg warmers. With the durrent running, and his legs starting to sweat, he takes the blue grass and paper and places them on the microwave, thus drying them both out rather quickly. And that is how the Pink Leg Warmers of Speed allow us to place a conscious thought into your subconscious mind.
Anyway, we are currently working in a secret base located in the Bahamas, we have women and rum so not much gets done here, but we do let you think that things are happening.....thank you Styxx for showing us how to make people think we are working hard when we are actually just getting drunk.
And laughing at your pink leg warmers.

Cuba Libres! They're called Cuba Libres!!
