Updated cut scene videos needed ASAP

(1/4) > >>

Iain Baker:
Hi people, I have a favour to ask, both for the article I'm writing, and to aid me in my capacity as the HLP social media chappie.

Does anyone have a link to the Blue Planet Cut scenes in full 1080P 60FPS (or above) with all the newest candy turned on (including shadows) and HDR and PBR effects? (Which I have been informed are now possible in FSO)

If so would you be happy to share them so I can add them to the article and use them for HLP promo purposes? If no such links / footage exists - could someone record said footage, or tell me how I might do it myself?

In particular I am looking for the opening cut scene of WiH 1, the opening cut scene from WiH 2 and the end credits cut scene from WiH 1 (From when the Blue Planet War in Heaven title screen appears and the song starts playing - I'm trying to avoid spoilers  :) )

Basically sexier versions of these:

War in Heaven Act 3 Intro

WiH 1 End Credits:

I'm also still waiting on the updated version of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDU8KW0SxK8 - using all the latest MVP 3.8.X assets and any other new eye candy. An updated version of the side by side video would also be handy, but not not essential. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=199DV_UY9Hc&t=58s

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out :-)

Iain Baker:
PS - the article I am referring to is attached in case anyone wants to take a look at it before I submit it to Coin-Drop.com later in the week / early next week etc.

Feedback welcome. I'm happy to make additional improvements and create a third draft. NB - since at 5200(ish) words it is probably too long for a single article post, I will probably split it into two or more separate articles and post them on consecutive weeks. (Also helps get some of that sweet internal links SEO goodness  ;7

I'm not sure I have time to help directly (it's going to be a busy couple of weeks for me), but I would suggest using OBS to capture the footage at high quality settings.  Results will of course depend on how good a PC you have to do the job with, but since OBS supports hardware encode acceleration, you really just need a good GPU and a big hard disk.

You can then trim the footage and transcode to a more YouTube-friendly format using Handbrake.  If you need it, I can give you specifics of how to set Handbrake up for best results.

If you need more complex editing than just a trim, DaVinci Resolve is a well-regarded free video editor.  You should be able to put some nice captions, transitions and audio mixing in without too much trouble.

Gonna re-record and upload those today.

Is there a HLP youtube channel now? If yes, the videos could be uploaded there (unless you have your own channel that you want to promote).
