For those who want to create FSO games without the requirement of FreeSpace 2 retail, I've created the template on GitHub. This easy-to-use template is designed as a starting base for retail-free FSO projects ranging from total-conversions to non-space combat games such as RTS games and choice-driven adventure games.

I am continuing to use this as my primary FSO game development environment. I am using it as the foundation of some unannounced projects. My intention is to have everyone working on games not requiring FS2 Retail here at HLP to eventually be using the same template.
