No. That hasn't been an issue since the new pilot code was introduced in FSO 3.7.0.

Code: [Select]
Loading model 'YurokHTL.pof' into slot '9'
ERROR: Can't open model file <YurokHTL.pof>
There appears to be a problem with at least one model file; you may have a corrupted VP archive (unfortunately I'm not at my desktop at the moment, so I can't compare your checksums/file counts right now).

This seems to be an error in the VPs. I am investigating.

I have updated bpc-visuals1.vp with a fix. Please rerun the installer or download it manually (links can be found in the release thread)

I played for a little longer and I got a different error.
Here is the log...

BTW. Blue planet is amazing... Everything is just intriguing....
I used to played it before with my old PC, not too powerful, but it is completely different game with my new machine. It is not a game it is a experience. Great work.

Code: [Select]
Loading model 'Zakros.pof' into slot '19'
ERROR: Can't open model file <Zakros.pof>
Same problem, different model. If the last one was caused by bpc-visuals1.vp containing a bad model, this one could very well be, as well.

Wuh...buh...zuh...

Those assets haven't changed in years! Why would they be throwing errors now?

Good question. I think we really need to consider putting out a proper patch soon.

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
But how would a patch help?
These assets haven't changed, have they? Why are they suddenly causing problems? I just played through AoA on 3.7.4 using the SVN, and had no trouble...

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
Because I suspect some shenanigans happening with the tool I've been using to build these vp files. Completely rebuilding them from scratch would be a good idea; Meanwhile, I'll see what I can do to fix this.

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
Also getting Zakros.pof error on UT 2. Haven't played Act 3 in some time, but I'm very certain this error did not occur the last time. Could upload a log, but I doubt it'd be different from shadowman's.

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
I'm so confused. Was this error introduced by a recent patch on our part (The E's push from a few days ago?) or a build change? I get the sense The E that you are pretty sure it was a patch.

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
I played AoA with either 3.7.4 or July 14th nightly (I'd say the nightly) and got no errors (before downloading the patch yesterday.) Also played Act 1, and then I believe I downloaded the patch before moving to Act 2 and received no errors until UT 2.

Edit: Just tried with 3.7.4 and July 14th build, getting error on both. And I don't have the original visuals1 anymore.

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
From what The_E said, I think the problem is the tool he's using to create the VPs is creating corrupted VPs. So the issue was probably introduced by the BPC patch before the last patch.

Re: Crash playing BP AoA
I re-ran the installer today played the game and I got the same error. I'll keep waiting for a solution. Is there a temporally solution to the error, though?
