Title: What's the deal?
Post by: Goober5000 on September 24, 2008, 09:24:26 pm
This has been going on for what, four years now?  And not a single FA campaign has been released. :p

None of them were ever finished. I still have all the missions if someone wants to clean them up. R1 is actually pretty much done in fact.

I could use the practise. No promises though.

"i love phoenixes"? :P

Seriously, I think the Academy should be sponsorized in a better way. There are more newcomers willing to join project in Missions and Campaigns than here...it's kind of strange... :wtf:

EDIT: I'd suggest posting a stickied&locked thread on Missions and Campaigns with a link to the Academy and something about people willing to volunteer.

EDIT2: Something like "Here's the deal, if you work solo your project will likely die(explained in a better way, with proper references to other episodes). In the Academy you can improve/check your skills and eventually find projects to join and/or potential team members for your own project."...or something like that...  :nervous:

I support all that. It will attract some more attention.

IMO the main purpose is to train new designers and not to release campaigns

I'm thinking about joining the FA myself, but it seems pretty hard to get into the mindset of the campaigns if not all of the missions are completed so I can reference off of them.

I don't think you need full knowledge of the campaigns to join the FA. All you need is to pick up a mission and FRED it. :)

Then I'll blame Mobius if I mess up with the plot or if it seems a little bit detached from the rest of the campaign :P

Just because I'm thinking of doing mission 38A, and under the description it says "You come upon the same situation as the loop, but the Apos once again gets away."

Why would you mess up the plot if you read carefully the description?

Yeh, something I just realized after reading through it a second time.
