Music and game ideas
How about MP3 or Ogg Vorbis support?

now game ideas.

this is a spin off of the Dock/Undock feature Fozzy suggested. But why not when you are docked you can change weapons?

There that it. I'm done. Comment if you wish.
I have big plans, now if only I could see them through.

mp3 is more common, and gives acceptable compression. This option is best imo.

Wasn't there a thread about this before?

May slow the game down for low spec users since it has to uncompress and play

Yeah, the changing weapon thing is already available from the debug codes. You could do something in FRED that tells the player what weapons they can cycle to.

Yes, here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,8731.0.html

BTW when I am running freeamp on my system, the CPU load is about 2%, and I suspect at least half of that is updating the freeamp UI.  I think the decompression burden would be negligable -- encoding is CPU-intensive; decoding (in realtime) is not.
