Author Topic: How to play Inferno?  (Read 10602 times)

i mean... the threads confused me, and i can't find any information that won't spoil something while i'm reading...

i don't understand the whole Inferno thingie... is it a saga? are there various campaigns to play that follow the "inferno" storyline?
if so, could someone please tell me the correct order of those? ( and where to download them, since there are no links at all in the download section of the hosted project... )

if this project is still to be finished, then im sorry, i didn't mean to put preassure or anything, but its just that i couldn't understand and the threads do spoil a lot!  :blah:

thanks!!!

K, listen closely, young grasshopper:

INFR1 = old and outdated, but released, version

INF:A = prequel series to Inferno's main campaign, part 1 released

INF:A2 = part 2 of INF:A, unreleased

INFASA = "Inferno: Alliance Standalone", a re-working of INF:A so that it is better, with improved story and the ability to stand alone, without FS

INF SCP = the "current" Inferno Project, being worked on. Not released.

Go to the "Old Releases" page on the website to find INFR1.

Go to http://inferno.hard-light.net/SOL/ to find INF:A's website.

thank you so much!!!

is this info in some FAQ or somewhere else? because maybe there are other like me, but who give up instead of just asking...
or maybe i'm just plain dumb and didn't see it.  :D

again, thanks.

Would I be correct in thinking that the most definitive versions of the campaigns would be:

INF SCP, standalone
INFASA, standalone
INFA2, running on INFASA

of which none are yet released, and all are separate from normal FS2 installations?

I agree with you. Its not really easy to understand whats going on here and where I can find all necessary files. Unfortunately Tureys installer wont give me any DL-options and the websites are much more then only outdated...  :(

where i can find INFASA ?

A ways into the future.

It's not done yet.

Oh you still believe in fairy tales like Santa, the Easter Bunny, and free market competition principles?

       Er, okay that's still confusing.
So okay, INF SCP is a rework of INF:R1. INF:A1+2 are prequels to INF SCP and INFASA is reworking of INFA1+2. Not sure why A2 and ASA are being worked on concurrently when the release of ASA seems to make A2 obsolete. And why not just call INFASA instead INF SCP:A?
Anyway . . . whatever. Clearly those acronyms were neither created by the same person nor at the same time or else they would be less confusing.

Wrong about the INFA part. INFASA is only a rework of INFA1, NOT INFA2. INFA2 will be part of a second INFASA release.

Those mods are rarely discussed, confusion's not a real damage.

You only need to know INFR1, INFA and INFASA(for now).

Released and quasi-released Inferno packages. INF SCP is far from completion.

You're confusing everyone even further. INFR1 is completely different from INFSCP.

I think I lost track of these Inferno things a few months ago. It was probably when INFamous and INFinity were announced. Oh, and the canceling of INFection really made me sad.

Because INFASA2 sounds stupid.

Actually, it would be INFA2SA (Inferno: Alliance 2 - StandAlone), not INFASA (StandAlone 2 WTF?)
But its still long and stupid, although, its much less confusing...
