I've recently started Watch_Dogs after grabbing it for free from the whatever Ubisoft promo. Seems fun so far. Nothing groundbreaking, but fun.

Re: What are you playing right now?
After getting a new surround sound system with optical TOSLINK input for my TV, I dusted of the PS2 to find out how good its surround sound is.
So now I'm continuing my old savegame of Ace Combat 5 which I started years ago, but never finished (shame on me).

As cheesy as the dialogue may get at times...  the visuals and music of that game are just epic

Cardinal Spear for Freespace 2 Open
The new weapons are fun to use, and it’s a nice little diversion, I have a lot of these smaller campaigns installed but I rarely get around to play them.
Initially was only to test my streamlined revision of the FS2Open HOTAS profile (the one I made originally was a bit slapdash, with a lot of stuff missing and a few superflous features turned on, usable still but not optimal) but I ended up chipping away at my sleeping hours again.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Cardinal Spear actually got FSCRP'd somewhat recently(last year or thereabouts). It's still an unbalanced mess but it should be an overall improvement over the decade year old OG version.
I'm not sure which version you used but the more recent "restored" one should've been generally easier to configure for.

Since it has 3D background planets I'd say the restored one, I also started Just Another Day but at 1080p my old videocard has issues in some missions.

Re: What are you playing right now?
I played through the Cooperative Campaign of Call of Duty: Finest Hour in local split screen with my husband.

Well... it is an okay game. Was not too patriotic and it was historic accurate as i can tell. This game is surprisingly hard in some missions, because your AI allies can actually die permanently and you have only very few checkpoints.

The coop gameplay was overall good. You have collectable health packs in this game, that you can have in your inventory for later use or to heal your allies at any time. Also they slightly changed some missions for the coop. Especially the Tank missions and the Sniper mission in Stalingrad. Also in in-game cutscenes you can see the second player which is also very rare in games that allow you to play the SP campaign in Coop :D.

The biggest issue was that you are dead if one of the players dies. So we had countless setbacks to the start of the levels, because most of the time my husband died :D.

The last missions in Remagen were a pain in the ass.. took us nearly two days.

Also i have continued Critical Depth and got some feeling for the game finally. Played through the first half of the first of the 15 campaigns so far and finished off the first boss.
Find out some tactics that exploit AI weaknesses.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Being sick at home I had the chance to power through Halo Wars 1 and 2 over the past three days ... They are certainly not the hardest games and being layed out for controller play makes everything a bit ... weird for me. The second game clearly had more knowledge and skill behind it in regards to RTS-gameplay - therefor is more enjoyable on the pure gameplay-terms.

However my biggest gripe is that neither of the plots makes much sense unless you are caught up on every detail of Halo 1-4, unless you want to actually invest the time to unlock codizes.

World of Warships:

Took out the ol' Kagero for some sneak assassinations.

The reds lost 3 ships, the whole battle. I killed two of them, a battleship and a carrier. The third ship was a destroyer, killed by friendly fire.

Yeah we lost.

I tried to push through RE4 Professional Mode again, yay I beat Salazzar and now I'm up to U3. The most annoying, and most interesting boss in the game.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Descent 2 via DXX-rebirth
My initial intentions were only to configure the sourceport (basically set up the HOTAS and the resolution to fullHD with 4x multisampling) to play it later but I ended up getting to the second world.
I liked the possibility to use the extra cannon energy to recharge shields just in case you wound up with enemies only dropping cannon energy and not shields, it has still to be above 100 to do so but I wish I had the possibility in some of the levels of the first game.
The thief bot is a nightmare but a rather adrenalinic one, chasing it for the whole level basically forces you to ignore everything else and just look for that tiny window that allows you to place a few hits on the goddamn bastard.

Re: What are you playing right now?
So, I decided to plug the Gamecube controller in my Wii and try my chances at Super Castlevania IV for SNES.
Is it me or this game is much more difficult than Vampire Killer/Bloodlines for Mega Drive/Genesis?
The fourth level has a lot of platforming hell parts already and I dread the next levels if it gets worse from here.
Also the art style isn’t as pretty.
Granted, Vampire Killer is one of the best looking Mega Drive games I played and a late gen title but the SNES has a better colour palette yet the graphics compared to the former look rather plain even with the occasional fancy effects.

I was just going to try out Super Castlevania IV on my android phone... Hmmm. Maybe not then?

To be fair before level four it was an incredibly smooth ride.

I just started the "classic" (2005) Star Wars Battlefront II again.  I'm having more fun than I remember from playing it 10 years ago.

It's easier to kill the thief once you get the Gauss cannon in level 3. I try to chase him into a room with no other way out, and use it together with flash missiles and smart mines placed at the door.

Yeah, the Gauss cannon is awesome, I almost never used the Vulcan in the first game but I have to keep myself from using the Gauss too often otherwise I might run out of ammo.
The added ammo pool is awesome too.

That is part of level 4 too, it's easy once you know what to do (hang off the hook, wait to rotate, land of the platform, fend off the medusa heads without falling and then hang again for the final rotation and the appearance of another platform to bring you to the next part of the level, it's a very short section) and if you are referring to the rotating corridor it's in the same level too, that part is easy but extremely plagued by slow down and one or two enemy placements are misleading enough they might kill you the first time you do it.
In general there are a lot of gimmicks that don't do much, Bloodlines/Vampire Killer felt more polished and had less millimetric platforming that I found much less frustrating even if the movement/whip options were more limited, hell, I have beaten that game in Expert mode with both the characters and it felt less bull**** than some parts of Super Castlevania IV.
