My guess is that the author wanted to give the player a feeling that among the squadron, the player is a mediocre pilot at best. Meh.
How do you kill a hydra?

You starve it to death.

Maybe it's based on difficulty you played at.  I remember trying it on Very Easy and only getting a little over 20 kills and the debriefing gave a satisfactory report.

Getting 20 kills there sounds rather easy though.

It can be a little tricky.  In that mission your wingmen go through the enemy like butter it seems so you have to be very quick.

However, the log says the game is looking for MVPs in a folder called MediaVPs_2014 but there are no files in that folder.

I think the problem is that you have the MVPs in Mods/MediaVPs_2014, but the mod only at MediaVPs_2014.

Well you can check your configuration (whether you put it on onther buttons) or drink something in the meantime if you really don't like it for some reason.

The intro is played only once when you start the campaign. There are several more cutscenes throughout the campaign and you need to sit through them too. But I think time compression ( [Shift] + [.] to increase the speed of game while [Shift] + [,] to decrease it) was working in most of them, if not all.
How do you kill a hydra?

You starve it to death.

This just got the MVP4.1 treatment and I got the update yesterday. However, the "partially installed" error popped up. Tried verifying file integrity and reinstalling the mod outright but no cigar

Update: debug coming up. Have at it if you see this
