This thread will be dedicated to either answering questions about the lore or just pasting random bits of lore I occasionally write. This could range from technology reports, science papers to logbook entries or just diaries from random people going through life in the 2300s.

Therefore, let me start off with a small note on the main ship manufacturing corporations (the ones you see in the ship selection anyway)

Seventier Dynamics

Founded in 2257 by the young entrepreneur Argon Emmerich, Seventier Dynamics is a company that specializes in simple yet very performant fightercraft, most notably the SDF Series, with the SDF-34a Aquila as its flagship product.

Starting with the FG-252 Linebacker as their first foray in military fighter designs, Seventier Dynamics established a common set of characteristics with their fightercraft, those characteristics being: Modularity, Reliability, Range and Versatility.

These traits allow most of their fighters to perform a wide range of missions and be fairly easy to maintain, at the cost of not implementing powerful yet experimental cutting edge features that some other companies incorporate into their ships.

In 2280, Seventier Dynamics revealed their R-Series Remora, initially planned to only feature one model of fighter and a planned discontinuation in 2295. However, the design of the Remora made it extremely popular with most navies, causing production and design to continue again, with a variety of improvements being made to the original Remora and with two Remora Variants being released, the Remora-M and Remora-B, an Anti-Frigate and Bomber variant respectively, with the original now being dubbed the Remora-F, sticking to an Assault Fighter role.

Delphinus Systems Inc.

Starting as a sister company of the general appliances company Mandrake Standards in 2214, Delphinus Systems eventually separated during a catastrophic crash at Mandrake Standards (which led to the main company going bankrupt and owned companies going independent).

With the rise of the USDF and a massive need for various kinds of military vehicles, Delphinus adapted its factories to accommodate full fighter ships instead of toasters and fridges. The Delphinus Research & Development Subunit meanwhile began research into various ways a pilot's performance can be improved through changes in a cockpit environment.

The results were the XF-58C Barracuda, a prototype fighter that incorporated a rudimentary MAC (Maximum Awareness Cockpit) which allowed a pilot to not be hindered by their own ship's structures and instead get a full 360° view of their surroundings through hundreds of cameras being installed into the ship's hull, which also allows for additional hull security by getting rid of traditional glass canopies.

Despite being only a small line of prototypes, the Barracuda was very popular by USDF Test Pilots and a limited release was allowed, which resulted in 200 Barracudas being with the USDF now.

Shortly after, Delphinus Systems began working on a much more modern and cutting edge fighter. The end result was the LF-230 Asteria Heavy Assault Fighter. This model features several major improvements over the Barracuda's MAC System along with the option to control various ship functions through holographic screens and gesture controls. The Chief Engineer also revealed plans to further expand on this to allow for pilots to "control the ship with their mind", letting specific electric pulses in a brain steer the ship.

AeroStar Manufacturing Company

A much older corporation compared to the previous two, Aerostar has existed since the late 2190s. They've held a long-standing reputation for underwhelming and average ships that are incredibly easy to use and cheap to produce, making them very favorable for mercenary companies and smaller nations.

The company has released over a hundred different ship models, a lot of them unremarkable, but as the Glisean War began, AeroStar has changed its design strategy, starting with the fairly well known AeroStar Firefly Series, the main ship of choice for the Allied Defense Force (ADF) and the USDF Planetary Guard. Another well known type of ship of their invention is the AeroStar Monstrum, which finds a lot of use in the USDF Naval Arm, next to the USDF Excalibur.

A much less talked about design is the AF-115 Airglider, heavily favored by various planetary defense forces, and once again, well liked by the USDF Planetary Guard. The Airglider comes with a modification package, allowing it to be adapted to nearly every possible atmospheric planet type.

do fighter pilots use or do anything to cope with fightercrafts at high G's, or is it to be assumed anime physics. im looking at the rabbits for this one and whether their ears flop around

The current day flight suits use blood pressure monitoring to apply pressure where needed during high-G moments, kind of like current-day G Suits but more intelligent and efficient. This allows for pilots to fly even sharper than before.

Though many ships are capable of pulling much harder Gs, any manned ship usually comes with a G-Limiter system that automatically stops or dampens control once a certain threshold in G has been reached, in order to prevent the pilot from passing out or turning their brain to mush.

The Denebim on the other hand, insist on using their very fancy but not as advanced suits, which makes them pretty liable to Blackouts in any Solarian ship.

And yes, the ears do flop around. A lot. Some have taken to fastening the ears to their helmets because of the annoying sensation.

The Artifical Intelligence Processing Limitation Act

In the early 2100s, AI research was very popular amongst various corporations, especially "Human-like" Intelligence that would behave and interact similar to actual humans. Already in 2110, androids were very popular in the military and service sectors.

However, following several highly publicized incidents in the years 2134, 2141 and 2152, all of them involving or being set off by AI Prototypes, public doubt and resentment of Artificial Intelligence grew sharply. And in 2166, with the Mondegreen Tanker Incident leading to hundreds of deaths and missing personnel, when the investigation revealed the cause to be a malfunctioning AI Core, the star nations agreed on a collective policy that would limit and/or ban any further research and deployment of Artificial Intelligence.

Initially starting with an outright ban on such activities (with the punishment being incredibly severe economic sanctions), the constant pressure by leading robotics companies MEGAERA Corporation, DynaMo Inc. and McLeod Intelligence Agencies lead to a slow decrease in strictness on this policy.

In 2300, "true" AI is still very much banned, but android-type robots have recently been re-legalized, along with limited neural networking being allowed for various computer systems, but every neural system must strictly be equipped with an instant kill-switch, should an incident like in 2166 threaten to occur again.

Ever wanted to read the language of the Denebim? Understand their fancy signposts? Or just wanting to read their scriptures and books?

Well you can start right here! The Denebim language consists of syllables represented as individual letters, and then several thousand icons to represent various words (not unlike some Earth languages). This is the syllabyllary of their written language. To the native Denebim, this is taught before the children even go to school (which is where they'd already be studying the proper logography bit by bit).

Another thing of note, in romanization of Denebim texts, the use of an apostrophe represents two words being spoken without pause in the middle, as if it was just one word but isn't, somewhat like how we'd use a hyphen for word combinations.

Here shown is a quick sketch of your typical soldier in the USDF Army and the USDF Planetary Guard respectively. Most notable difference would be probably just how sparsely equipped your typical Guardsmen are, as opposed to the lavishly armored and equipped Soldiers.
