I ask for a brief list of INF progressions, and the statis\progress of the current one.
And I think it should be pinned so it's easy for anyone to see. Like the uninformed people like me, so they can see and stop asking that god dammed question
Progressions: INF R1, INFRA1, INFRA2, INF R2, INF R1 redone, INF SCP (current one?)
and maby if your ambitious, links to various topics, to each progression for refrence?
Thanks again,
Ephili

INFR1 - Old, released
INFR2 - WILL NEVER EXIST
INFA - Old, released
INFASA - new, WIP
INFA2 - new, WIP sequel to INFASA
INFSCP - new, WIP
that's all there is.
OR, SOMEONE COULD JUST POST THAT CONTINUITY TREE AGAIN IN A STICKY.
I can't find it again though... :doubt:
EDIT:

Damn it, here it is.
KEY (From Snail):
Yellow = Not INF-Canon
Teal = INF-Canon to OLD Continuity
Purple = INF-Canon to NEW Continuity
-
IIRC INFSCP is now INFASA. they are not two projects.
:wtf: I don't think so...
-

They look separate to me.
-
Where'd you hear that?

But, what about a ... order. First came Inferno. That was redone in R1, which is out? Where does INF SCP come in? Is it R1 redone? Is it the continuation, like R2?
New inferno
INF S
and INF SCP
is that chapters 1-3? Or what?
Anyone else confuzed?
We need a final answer, with all questions resolved, and we need it PINNED.

Dear lord, the misinformation in here...and after Droid803 gave you all the right answer to boot. Let's try this again, shall we?
INFR1 = Inferno Release 1. The original Inferno release. The Inferno release you can still download from the Inferno website. Includes a patch that makes it SCP-compatible.
INFR2 = Inferno Release 2. The sequel to the original Inferno release, which would have continued on its storyline after the GTVA/EA cease-fire. Now discontinued in favor of a new Inferno version.
INFA = Inferno: Alliance. A reasonably recent side-campaign detailing the creation of the Earth Alliance after the collapse of the Sol jump node. Will be deprecated by its upcoming stand-alone version.
INFASA = Inferno: Alliance Stand-Alone. An in-progress refurbished version of Inferno: Alliance with revised missions and storyline progression. Being stand-alone, it won't require that one have retail FS2 installed in order for it to run, much like The Babylon Project.
INFA2 = Inferno: Alliance 2. A planned sequel to Inferno: Alliance that will continue its story and presumably share its upcoming stand-alone nature.
INFSCP = Inferno: Source Code Project. The "main event" of the entire Inferno mod, in a manner of speaking. A complete revamping of the original Inferno release that will re-tell its story and continue on past its ending point into what would have been covered by R2. Will take advantage of SCP features in both mission design and mod content. Will also presumably be stand-alone, though don't quote me on that.
S:AH = Sol: A History. A relatively old campaign by Blaise Russell set in the Inferno universe and using its mods that tells the story of the Earth Alliance's development. Not considered part of Inferno canon, as it's a fan work.
(And all of this is why I hate overuse of acronyms...)

This is half true
-
what do you mean "half'?
-
Both projects have been partially combined, but INFSA and INFSCP are still seperate to each other.
-
Can we pin this so I never have to ask again; as well as anyone else.
-
Well even if I did, someone would probably still ask again :D
-
it makes it easier to yell at them - we just have to go "look at the sticky!!!"
-
-
Nuh huh. Pin!
-
Or maybe you, Woo, could start a sticky thread, list all the different incarnations down, then lock it.

Hi guys, my first post here. I've been keeping an eye on INF SCP for a long time now, and seeing as how there hasn't been anything new about it for awhile, can I just guess that it's never coming out? Hate for my first post to be pessimistic but I just gotta be real here.. :doubt:
-
Um, WRONG. Woomeister is working on it slowly but steadily.
-
Actually no-ones been working on it since Rampage left. However I've taken over the project again and are currently rebuilding the modpack piece by piece. There's a partially restored version currently undergoing debugging and testing right now.

If there's one thing it'd be worth learning about this community, it's that large-scale projects tend to take a very long time to come out. We have one high-profile mod that's been worked on for what I think is a good 8-9 years now and is still in-progress, and there are a few others (Inferno included, in a certain sense) that have been kicking for almost that long. On that sort of time scale, fluctuations in activity level become a natural occurrence, and an extended period of public inactivity doesn't necessarily mean much of anything. There's a reason that most mod makers love to answer any and all questions about release dates with the phrase, "When it's done." :p
-
I understand that much. They do have their own lives and I'm not gonna grill them for that. If it means a enjoyable high-quality campaign, I'm willing to wait like everyone else. :)

Thats the hardest part.

This is a splendid idea.

No offense, but can you please remove this post? It's at the beginning of a thread meant to clarify everything... :nervous:
-
done.
-
If this is going to be pinned, you should change the title.

Hello.... Checks in this part of the forum a year later, notices the thread.
Notices there is a relevant sticky "RIGHT UNDERNEATH IT FROM 2007!!!" :hopping:
Instead of making this thread, you could have just read the:
INFA STATUS (sticky)...
On the lighter side of news some trivia for you all:
In 1988 I scored high enough to get into Army Intel on asvab(magi)
In 2002 I got damn near the same scores without studying (99% of the math that time around I had to GUESS!!!)
Not bad for an IQ 111 guy ;7
Freaky huh?
-
Lucky..........
On both my entrance tests for the British Army, ( I did one for the hell of it as a junior to see what i could go into) i scored enough to enter any service from Dog Handler to Apache pilot. :p
