Just look at the current trend of technology. First there was internet, now there's MMORPGs, Project Natal and all that... I do NOT see holobands and V-World as being far-fetched. In fact I'll be really surprised at the end of my lifetime if we haven't made our own Caprica style V-World by then.

Our "holobands" may end up being more like those chairs where they get plugged in from the Matrix.However I dont think many people would like the idea of having an implant drilled into their heads.

We already have technology available in the last year or two where you can read enough brainwave information to remote control a simple robot just by wearing a band around your head.  It is primitive right now but extrapolate 30 or 40 years... we'll be able to do this kind of thing I think.
