the opening itself outter wise, is huge to make subspace which in terms of freespace is a massive form of energy swarming around, and the middle, which i think u was refering to, is that way to give a perspective of depth. makeing it "deep" as if u can see into the subspace vortex...

Well, in my opinion, the center should be more colorful, the yellow just doesn't go with the rest of the picture. The rest of the SS effect is good, though

I remember in the Command Briefing about the Knossos, it described the portal as a "vortex" and the ANI showed this black hole type depression in space, so I have no problem with it looking like a tunnel.

wow lol zeronet, yes the quote itself, oddly enough was made up, but then a moment later i remembered its similar to the quote from the fs2 intro movie.  but i left it as is, and man, referring to mankind, humans in general. same thing tiara. but thanks. the color is yellow cause of the transparency effect i put. to give it depth, the yellow in a way looks part of the energy in the vortex.

also vadar, one would think if subspace looked as it does inside, does it have to look the same outside? the vortex itself is being viewed from outside the subspace coninuem.......wouldnt the color be a tad difffrrent? especially if the effect looked similar to a DS9 wormhole.....ewwy thing they made...
