Galactic Terran Strategic Bomber Armageddon
Measuring at 95 meters in length and with a crew of 6, this colossal craft is the GTVA's final answer to the threat of the Sathanas class juggernauts. It is so large that only dedicated heavy carriers can launch them and the cost of each unit is astronomical. The cost is well worth it, for the Armageddon is a flying fortress in the truest sense of the word. It's secondary payload is second to none - 2 massive missile bays are capable of carrying all standard bomber ordinance and the third bank is made specifically to carry 4 Judgment Day torpedoes - the largest and most powerful weapon ever mounted on a strikecraft. That firepower is further complemented by 4 standard primary weapons and a twin Redeemer anti-destroyer cannon, giving it an unprecedented offensive potential
The defense is no less impressive. Shielding a craft this big required covering a large surface area, pushing shielding technology to it's theoretical and practical limits, requireing 2 dedicated reactors. In addition to the ultra-thick ablative armor the Armageddon boasts 6 twin-barreled HL-9 Luger defensive turrets and 1 nose-mounted vulcan turret, making it a terror to any attacking fighter. All of those defenses are needed, for the craft handles like a cruiser.
Armageddons are considered a strategic asset and are deployed with heavy escorts only on direct orders by high command.



Judgment Day Torpedo
The product of decades or research into miniaturization and warhead technologies, the GTSM-01 Judgment Day is the most powerful weapon ever fielded by any craft. Torpedoes of this size are usually only used by the largest and most powerful warships, but the potential for interception when launched from long-range limited it's use. It was one of the primary reasons for the development of the Armageddon super bomber. Since a bomber-carried weapon is launched from close range and needs less fuel, the torpedo can be smaller and is harder to intercept. It's still the size of a small fighter and is actually armored to increase it's chances to punch trough AA defenses. Because of the sheer destructive potential and massive radius that even the Armageddon might not survive, the torpedo will only arm once it travels a safe enough distance.

UPDATE:
- improved texture
- fixes to a few mesh errors
- alternate normal map included
- alternate model included (couldn't get the missile hatches to open, so I included a version without missile hatches - just remove the hatches subsystems from the table file)
- secondary slots have been moved around
- Redemer cannon is now double-barreled for even more firepower.

Not satisfied with it. Not at all. A mesh error on the tip of the Redeemer canon. Some parts of the texture need work. Side of canons looks too empty. Will have to add some more greeble and detail there and at the back.
forgot the b turrets for second lod.

**** me, I just can't get the missile hatches to work..

strangely enough I get two conversion errors (uncorrectable geometry! This is the darkest of days! Think of the CHILDREN) but I can't find anything wrong.
Every object and subobject looks good, the hatches subobjects show up correctly, but they refuse to trigger/rotate.
Since I have two hatches and two errors, I assume the hatches are the error, but they are the simplest objects on the ship - just boxes - so they can't be the source of geometry errors.
Well, I can live without the hatcehs.. the tip of the massive torpedos stickign out kinda looks even better.


On a somewhat unrelated note - has the board become dead in my absence?
I know I was away for a while, but I come back and released a whole bunch of stuff - the WIP (but working) modular station and 5 modules, the GTD Auriga, the GTSB Armageddon and the GTTB Lightbtinger and the improved OrionMk2 and GTF Falcon B (but the last two are just tweaks/modifications, so let's not count them) and the response is barely anything.
Has something happened to drive much of the userbase away?
Or am on some blacklist or something?
A year ago every one of the above mentioned would be highlight stuff, but now I barely get 1-2 responses. What gives?
Is everyone away on New Year vacations?

New Year vacations I think yeah. But also things have kinda winded down some.
Got Shivans? The SOC Ezechiel is the schnitzel! Don't leave base without it.

I guess policy of releasing models changed a bit. From some time I have to PM admins to highlight my stuff. On the other side, single released models were highlighted very rarely before. Quality and amount of polygons incrased etc. I think you should take care about some promo. I make topic for single released model, sharing WiP screenshots in numerous places... In short models needs attention.

HLP is still very populated but I guess majority of the people migrated to BP board. Since Aesaar released his TEI fleet and Esarai reworked majority of old Steve-O models + made Solaris, people seems to lost attention to anything other. Both model packages are good but aren't anything revolutionary anyway. Despite that there are whole theads with discussion about single model in BP board. Just BP attached people to these designs.

I admit it's pissing me off when I release hours of my work that I'm proud of and get 2-3 comments [minus Atum that people here seems to love xD], but the point of releasing free models was different for me. I care about variety, and I want this community to have something to use in their productions... So I stopped to be surprised.

...and majority of HLP users of today care much more about fancy look of ships, rather than analizing their functionality.

TLDR: Make cool campaign with your models, and people will notice them. That's one of the reasons why Exile has tons of them :P.

Oh, I have continued my work on my campaign. And you already know that I don't hog models... though maybe I think I should start doing so. Hype and dangling/tantalizing can be "better" than the final product. Alas, I can't compete with BP.
I don't have a small army working for me. :P

Speaking of which, I love your campaigns.

Oh, and I have a shipyard module in the works for my modular station and I was adding detail like robotic repair arms and repair drones visible in the hangar, when I noticed repair arms in the Exile gallery.
Can you share those? It would speed up my work on the yard and repair ship.

but some textures are missing: shiphull_dark3, shiphull2, shieldhit01a and jd for missile. :nervous:

Current SG is far from being my dream project, but I still kinda like it. We have plans to completly remake this project when first act of Exile is released. Thanks for kind words anyway :P.
As for the shipyard arms, original model is made by SolCommand: http://www.solcommand.com/2013/09/lisse-mobile-shipyard.html . I only buffed it a little bit, retextured, made LODs, debris etc. I can still share my version with you, but if you want only arms you can download original model.

BTW. FoW 3 :D? I'd like to see updated FoW2. I loved first part, but if I remember correctly second chapter had some bugs which makes me unable to finish off CoTS campaign.
