chief and I managed to bring http://www.freespacemods.net back. It looks completely different (much simpler) and no longer accepts uploads but all existing downloads should work once again.
Old links like http://www.freespacemods.net/download.php?view.894 should also continue working.
The front page now contains a list of all available files grouped by their categories. You can click on the category names to jump around or use your browser's full text search if you're looking for something specific.
Let me know if anything's missing or broken.

@Nightmare: Not sure. In any case, that'd break old links which kind of makes it pointless (unless the FSMods domains are too expensive).

Except fixing small things, I luckily don't have to use it for anything. Terrible programm. :ick: I wouldn't mind to see it disappear, from both my computer and FSMods. :D

Will subdomains like Scooby Doo's come back as well? The links in his Christmas 2010 thread are still broken.

The only subdomains which I am certain were backed up are fsport, mvp, sa, scp and tvwp. I don't know if any other subdomains were backed up, you'll have to ask Goober about that.
