SG, I think you just did the internet equivelent of giving everyone... I dunno, booze, and then having a glass of water for yourself.

Really?

Oh, and in case noone noticed, those last two screenshots are made using post-processing... I mean, I like it :p Even though the nebulas flash if I fire my weapons while looking behind ( after pressing the . key on the numpad. )

And yes, that's the Orff. First FSPort mission.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I was with a drunken chief1983 in a multi session a few hours ago. We were playing Their Finest Hour on Medium difficulty. Near the end, when there were only at most four Mara fighters to deal with at any one time (against twelve of us; bombers don't count), I saw for myself just how bad the aim of the AI is in multiplayer.

The following screenshot is solid proof that the AI in FS2 graduated from the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy.

Those are Kayser and Maxim shots, by the way.

Usually, my wingmen aim better than I do :nervous:
Why are those retail nebulas?

Only the retail FS2 server is up I think.

I didn't find how to add youtube video on a post so i'll do it old fashion's way:

So here is the End project's teaser :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vReDsUgjNXU
and here is a little bonus : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5Ft1JNr6Wk

I tried to ask a question about this earlier... but that question was overshadowed by a certain aviation cannon discussion.

Where can I read more about this project? I'm quite intrigued, actually.  :D

Are you sure that it wasn't Chief firing?
Flying drunk in WC3 caused your ship to behave erratically (or so I heard, I talked to Rachel at this point), so maybe FS fighters react in the similar way.

I'm very certain it wasn't him. Note that that Mara had at least four fighters coming after it, and the Kayser shots come from different angles, so unless you're telling me that Chief can be in four places at once, I highly doubt that Chief was the one firing all those shots.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Well, another explaination would be that he invited FS AI to drink with him.  :)
And regarding Reprobator's End Project, this launch sequence is amazing, where can I  get more info on this project?

Yeah, seriously.

There are so many huge projects in the FS community that seem to be unimaginably awesome.

Since this thread needs more screenshots, here's a couple from a recent play of Homesick:

I just love the reflected hyperspace tunnel on the front of the Deimos. :)

Re: A celebration of Freespace

The beam glows still suck. Bring back the 3.6.7 ones and we have a winner. :p

The beams also clip right through the Aeolus?

Isn't the turret supposed to be occluded on that side?

Actually, it's a little-known fact about FS2 that capship weapons can pretty freely fire through their own host ship's hull.

Unless turrets use "check hull" flag.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Quite. Your addition of the 'check hull' flag was what informed me of that little-known fact in the first place.

And a good addition it was - no more Hecates firing through their own hulls!

Pictures long forgotten in this same thread brought to life again!  :D
Honestly, I wish these muzzle glows were included in the release of the 3.6.10 mediavps without table hacking.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Can you give the exact spelling of that flag? as i don't see this one in the weapon.tbl wiki.
