My main problem with the glow is that it looks stupidly huge compared to an Aeolus, and especially the turret that it comes from.

Technically, it's a recreation of the old (read: retail) effect using the 3d warp effect developed previously.

Hmm, I never noticed. The Mafdet is actually a great replacement for the Het-Ka

Yes.
You will have to play around with it's pof though, as it uses some textures that are not in mediavps.
