Spoon for some reason wanted me to flash these at you.

I did these while I was bored and needed something to do, so I did this. Obviously not much work needed here, but I may use it eventually anyway.
My Efforts:

20:10:01   Spoon: I find it mildly arrousing
20:10:07   AndrewofDoom: Woah
20:10:15   Spoon: sound like my kind of loli
20:10:21   Spoon: and im not even a lolicon

Take a look at my Mega Fighterbay, made up of 350 TC-TRI's (you could fit an Orion inside it  ) sorry for the gap, though.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
I think it would be a Ship Editor headache for anyone who wishes to manually dock them.

Hey, Marcov, you should look at the EAI Andromeda in INFR1 if you haven't done so. That was made to house the TSJ Icanus, the largest fan-made Terran spacefaring warship ever created (discounting the TSJ Amaterasu because I don't have a size comparison between both).

It would also look better, and probably be less of a resource hog.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace

Done through overlapping.

In short, I overlapped TC-TRI after TC-TRI, copy paste, copy paste until you form a huge 2 click square pit like that one.

As for the Andromeda, well, didn't look too fighterbay-ish.

The Amaterasu is about 7km, the Icanus is more than 20km.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
Exactly, Icanus is the only Terran ship that size available for FS.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
And that's a bad thing?  I find any Terran-Vasudan vessel over 10km to just be excessive, impractical, and a massive waving of e-peen by the creator.

[08:00:11] <Caiaphas> the plane however performed admirably, and only crashed because it no longer had any guidance systems

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
There's even larger GTI Atlantis, which can dock 4 Icanuses in it's main dock.
Such stations should be threated more like planet surface models or background than actual installations though (Atlantis is unarmed).
20Km starships also have their uses, but they need a very good FREDing to use well (and there's also the fact that putting them into FS universe at Terran side needs a good justification, I think that they should be used for other races or even other universes).

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
Also, other engines. The FS engine really isn't built to accomodate objects that large.

Guess it's time for FreeSpace 3!   :P
This time, you get to fight 10,000 Sathanas juggernauts in the Shivan system. The "Boss" ship will be a 200,000 kilometer BEAST that can ram a star to death with its turret's health 99/100!!!!!

Release date: January 1, 2013.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
Yeah.

Speaking of which:

While that is technically a screenshot supposed to demonstrate what FS2_Open is capable of, it's true purpose is to serve as a picture for this article. I know this screenshot has already been done by someone else several tens of pages in front, but I can't be arsed to check, since I'm in a bit of a rush.

For those of you who have read or are reading that article, I had to manually re-create the calculations needed for all the beams statistics. My notes and calculations are hidden in that article and shown at the bottom of this page.
