Am I the only one bothered by the advertisements at then end of his latest videos?
Maybe. Whenever I see one of those ads, I'm just "Oh, the review ended", and then I'll do something else. No problems with that.

The main reason that they've started to bother me is that they're longer than the review itself.

It's not like he's the one adding them, though.  Once you hit the T-shirt ad, just stop it.

Well the game looked cool when until it turned out to be an MMO then it looked like ass.
But yeah, just hit stop before you get to that stuff. Streaming is streaming, don't have to download the whole thing.

wait, it got turned into an MMO? I thought it was only you used other players creatures, which can be turned on/off...  :( :sigh:
Sig nuked! New one coming soon!

"War is everywhere in Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR), the new fantasy MMORPG from Mythic Entertainment, the creators of Dark Age of Camelot™. WAR features next generation Realm vs. Realm™ gameplay that will immerse you in a world of perpetual conflict for years to come.
"

Btw, from reading hte rest of the description it still seems like there's no or very limited PvP kills. It's just the "do good, give you nation some points". Lame

My friend aptly described Spore as a bunch of mini games with infintely less epic version of Sins of A Solar Empire tacked on at the end.

I thought SPORE was supposed to be based off SimEarth.

Oh you still believe in fairy tales like Santa, the Easter Bunny, and free market competition principles?

Yahtzee compared it to Starcontrol, but that game is probably before your time.

Frankly, the Space Age kinda...lacks.

A great big empire and they only got one friggin warship to defend themselves...getting gangbanged by pirate attacks on 3-4 planets at a time...me having to defend all of them (even tough they are fully developed T3 worlds with full defenses and uber-turrets and can fend off most attacks themselves)
the navigation and mission logs are ankward. Especially the mission log. It only holds the last 3 missions, so when a pirate raid comes, you loose the logs.
not to mention that military fighter jets my colony has a plenty apparently just sit idly by during invasion.

The best part of he game is creating your own designs and seeing them in action during Civ Age.

I know what you mean. I got pretty damn pissed off that I could only bring my ship around, and my enemies could land invasion forces.

Agreed. I know it's a sandbox game, but I can't get over the fact that the other empires have a large advantage over my own.

It's certainly not the epic game I thought it would be, it's more like a tech-demo than a complete game, at least, that's how it feels.

Yep. When your 'rank' increases, you can recruit allied ships, but you basically only can control one ship. And you can't land invasion forces, and despite the fact that my planets are all crawling with armed units, none of them will try to fight off enemy invaders.

I was really excited playing it and had a lot of fun until a few hours into the space stage. I agree though, it really does feel like a tech demo or unfinished game.

Hell if I'm buying seven expansion packs just to get a full game out of this. I got bored with it in two or three days.

I played it once, and have never played it again.

And everyone asks for your help, no matter where you currently are of what you're currently doing. You're halfway across the galaxy? I don't care. Come help us kill a few infected creatures on our planet.
Help Captain! We're a T3 fully developed colony with a full turret defense, a deployed Mega-Turret and 50 modern, armed and completely useless fighters AND we're being attacked by 2 small pirate ships. Come quick!

Not to mention that early in the space stage, when you're ship still isn't upgraded, you can get attacked by HUGE alien forces that even with 2-3 allies you can't hope to beat, since the enemy ships have 2700HP (+escorts) while your fighter has 100 (7500 fully upgraded).

Oh yeah, and once you finally have a 50+ planet empire and start to feel powerful and confident, you'll be sent on a mission to the Galactic Core. THEN you'll realise just how tiny and insignificant your empire is. Even better, the star clusters can be spread a bit, so you can't jump towards the core with the current drive tech. And the only way to unlock a better drive tech is GRINDING. Do delivery missions and travel around till you visit 1000 stars.

Heck, a game that is tedious even with CHEATS just screams BAD DESIGN.

I have to hand it to you TrashMan, you know how to make a good spaceship.  :)

The problem with the space age is that it's there to provide a sandbox, not a game. Of course this raises the issue that the game was sold as a game, not an editor...
