Likes most of my public statements, lets keep this short and sweet..
Though there is plenty of hustle and bustle on internal, the team, myself included constantly are reminded that out here, it seems like nothing much is ever going on...
So, help us out. What do you want to hear from us? off the top of my head, we can give updates on mission progress, may-haps some plot details, stuff about the modpack, or just flood with more screen-shots, but we really are curious as to what everyone would like to see.
So shoot.

The problem, I think, is that without something playable, there isn't much to discuss in terms of story, missions and gameplay. And screenshots without context are relatively meaningless material (since we already know your mod will be pretty).

Some updates on missions could be usefull, right now, nobody outside the team knows how much of ED is done.
I'm not asking for release estimates, but rather for some base for making my own.

Fewer screenshots. Or at least fewer meaningless contents that are "oooh look at the pretty pictures they distract you, no?"
I'm sure you guys could at least try a mystery pic or two like folks used to.

ask you can see we release whatever is unused, most of the stuff you have now in mediavps(effects) was created originally for ED, this is a philosophy I personally use :yes:
on the same topic, I made quite a few new normal maps for lots of the tile maps that were lacking them from the mediavps, I'll probably release those public as well

Eh, watch out for the dimensions on those super narrow ones. IIRC some video cards didn't like them much, but cool.

Of course, I'd like to see a release thread, or at least the beggning of beta stage. :)
It doesn't looks like we'll see that soon though, so alternatively, there could be more assets dumps, some hints about developement progress, glimpses of backstory, etc.
Also, a "mystery pic" may be a nice idea.

Most people seem to think that more screenshots are pointless.

And do you actually follow the hint? :rolleyes: Those who don't want any new pics can stay away from here. Pics are never pointless if they're meant to show something new, or something old from a new perspective.

Is the big backstory thing easily available to viewers here? Pinned or somesuch?

Some kind of an unrelated but in-universe fiction perhaps? In other words, something that enhances the 'aura' of the campaign but does not give away anything?

I've given very explicit descriptions of what's been done and what's not a few times now, though maybe not here on the ED forum.
The #1 thing you should not do is get mad.

Is there a backstory thread on Hard Light? I only remember seeing it in Game Warden.

Yeah but to be honest it was about some random Vasudan rebel group and was a little boring. We'll try to bring out a more interesting tidbit soon.

I thought the political situation in Vasuda was actually quite interesting. In fact, it sorta looks like a Egypt.
