Trouble before I even start.
Alright so I'm very new to modding and fs2 open and everything not to do with fs2 retail. I spent quite a bit of time figuring out how to get Blue Planet to work and upon finally getting it to load and such, in the first cutscene when you are looking at that green thingy, as soon as the camera pans to the right and down the game freezes. I'm not sure what i did wrong but I was really looking forward to playing this campaign :( Someone please help.

Okay, here's what you need to do: Select a debug build in the Launcher, run it, and then post the fs2_open.log from your data folder here. That way we can determine what's going on.
We would also need some basic info about your PC, what OS you are using and what your graphics hardware is.

Also, for future reference, consult this guide on how to install FSOpen in general and mods in particular.

How much time did you wait before closing the game/rebooting or whatever?

It may simply take a lot of time for your computer to load everything. After all, there are a lot of ships in that cutscene as far as I can remember. Try without the MediaVPs.

No. Don't.
While I suspect that your PC may be unable to handle all the BP models in their full glory, taking out the mediavps is not a good idea.

Did you set the graphics to OpenGL?
Maybe running it in Direct3D is causing problems.

Running it in Direct3D will not cause problems, since the engine doesn't use Direct3D.

So you're telling me that I can select Direct3D in the Launcher, but the engine runs in OpenGL anyway?
Then why is there even the option to select it?

I guess that's a good argument...
Anyway I remembered that this caused some problems in the past, so I thought it might be that.... Apperently I wasn't up to date on the matter  :o

It should have come with your installation of FS2_Open. It's called fs2_open_3_6_10d.exe (Note the d). Click on the "Browse" button in the Launcher, select that build, and run it.

You don't have to select d-build in a launcher, just run the .exe directly. No need to do that for any build unless you want to use launcher to set previously unavailable flags or remove deprecated flags.

The point of this, Fury, is that it allows me to see what custom flags the user uses, and more importantly, if they have problems with a mod, what the -mod command line looks like.

Debug log shows those without selecting the exe in launcher. Even if you have another exe selected in launcher, any exe you launch directly will use these same command line flags as selected in launcher. It'd be serious pain in the ass if one would have to change his exe in the launcher all the time. Luckily this is not the case.

Is this the log you are referring to? Also I haven't had problems before with fs2 since I've beat the campaign multiple times and what not. I've played WoW on this comp with little problems and I've played warcraft3, RTW, all with no issues.

That's the log, but it doesn't look quite like the whole thing.

Could you make sure to run the debug build all the way up to the crash (i.e. load the mission in question, and play to the point of crash?) Then make sure to cut and paste the whole build.

Also, could we get screenshots of your FS2 and Blue Planet folders?

Aaand this is why I want you to use the Launcher. Please select the debug build in the Launcher, select Blue Planet as the mod, and run that.
